Acceptance by the oppressor through an award. I’ll never understand. Congrats
That was a wonderful speech. Teyana's star is rising and burning bright.

I’m glad Teyanna won the award but I wish we could win something without crying. We could learn a thing or two from Mo'nique.
Teyana was absolutely brilliant in One Battle.
I never heard of this movie. Trailer looks good. I'll be waiting for it on Paramount. I can understand her tears. She has been struggling for a long time to make a name for self. She has gone through a lot in her career. Most ppl would have quit by now. Not to mention a cheating @$$ ex. LOLO
Great Movie, and she made that part hers!!
Good for her. I hope this opens more doors for her.
There is nothing wrong with crying when the moment calls for it. We should be past those kind of stupid judgments.
For giggles I looked up the number of Black Golden Globe winners since 1944.
No Black person has ever won for Best Director, Screenplay or Score. Sorry, Quincy, Spike, Ava ...
For their movie roles 10 Black men have won: Sidney, Denzel, Morgan, Forest, Louis Gossett Jr., Will, Jamie, Chadwick, Mahershala Ali, Daniel Kaluuya.
Seven Black women have won: Whoopi & Angela for Best Performance by an Actress in a Motion Picture – Musical or Comedy, and Andra Day as the first and only Best Performance by an Actress in a Motion Picture – Drama. Several other women have won for their supporting roles: Whoopi (a 2-time winner), Octavia, Viola, Regina King, Jennifer Hudson, Mo'Nique & Zoe Saldana (if you consider her Black).
There have been quite a few winners for TV shows to include comedy over the years, but so far Sterling K. Brown is the first and only black actor to win Best Performance by an Actor in a Television Series – Drama in the ceremony's history.
All told, Black actors have only accumulated 19 motion picture acting wins as of 2025, with most of them predominantly in supporting roles, and with Denzel having the most wins.
So while I can respect these artists and celebrate their wins, I definitely understand the criticisms above. You would think we didn't exist until they throw us a bone every once in a while. It's pretty unfortunate we can literally count the number of us who are recognized for our talents.
Who bought this for her?
Leonardo, Benicio, Sean Penn - all star cast. Miss Teyana is moving up in the world. I’m so happy for her.
Congratulations Miss Lady!!
She WILL get that Cicely Tyson and Dionne Warwick biopic roles SOON!!
