Delroy Lindo and Michael B. Jordan Called the N-Word at the BAFTA Awards

Sinners stars, Delroy Lindo and Michael B. Jordan, are called the n-word after a Tourettes activist at the British Academy of Film and Television Arts Awards, shouts the word while they are presenting...

Sinners set designer Hannah Belcher says it actually happened 3 times.

Wrong is wrong. Idc what conditions you have. It doesn't make it okay. If a special needs person murders someone they still go to jail and face the same consequences as anyone else. Tourettes is no excuse for being a racist 🙄

Tourettes my azz. He knew what he was doing.

@10:37am-I agree. There is a reason why this so called special needs person chose to use these particular words. He did not use just any curse words towards them. That excuse completely invalidates Tourette's as a disability.

And isn't he just saying what's on his mind?? Just lacking the impulse control.

But everyone there needs to tolerate and accommodate that kind of disability?? They let him stay instead of removing him? Seated backstage? Seated in the hallway, far from the stage? Closed circuit/screening next door? And it definitely should be edited out when it’s aired.

Do people with this illness ever make slurs against YT people?

@1:55 pm ...EXACTLY

He shouldn't have been allowed in the event if he hadn't taken his meds to control his condition.

The comment section is commenting because on these other platforms D’whites are blaming it on his disability. Smh where’s the apology?!

Actually, the inability to control certain impulses is one of the hall mark symptoms of Tourette Syndrome.

Let each one teach one... 😃

A Tourette's victim's lack of impulse control causes them to think and speak the worst image that comes to mind. It really is not their fault, but the BBC and BAFTA should have apologized instantly and never aired the word.

@7:11 That is exactly what 11:06 was stating but the point they were really making is the racial slur was in the person's mindset which is something totally separate from the disability.

So why did he holla out Honky or some other derogatory word to Y'ts on the show? Stop making excuses for bigotry. Street justice for all. LOLO

@1:22am
I’m 1:55pm. Thank you. You answered the question that’s been on my mind in a way that makes sense.

The man with Tourettes (Tourettes Coprolalia) said it because it’s part of HIS thought process on Black people. AND Black people don’t have that racist mindset when it comes to YT and that’s (probably) why you don’t hear Black, Asian, African, etc people with Tourettes (coprolalia) shouting out racist slurs to YTs.

That ain't to say we don’t have hateful thoughts toward them. We do (or I do, maybe I should just speak for myself), but it doesn’t manifest in racist slurs.

And that supports what 10:29am said, Tourettes is no excuse for being a racist.
