"They called it tacky ..." Because it kinda was. Lol. Yes, she dressed them and their "style" caught a lot of attention but it was mostly because of who was wearing it. The ladies were the real draw, not the clothes or her fashion sense. People were laughing at some of their looks and that made them even more noticeable. Their southern charm was also different so it kinda played into her hee-haw designs, which was also cute in a country bumpkin kind of way.
Anyway, I don't know why this woman craves external validation so hard. She has everything a momager/woman could ever ask for and yet she still wants praise from strangers. I guess success and unspeakable wealth just isn't enough. It's quite weird but also very telling.
...but the House of Dereon self destructed.

Tina's money PAID thd bills. Matty quit his job at the copy toner company after Ms.Ann the orginal manager was let go once he saw Destiny's Child making progress.
Tina's hair salon money is what kept the family floating. They have long said this for years. She was sewing those costumes st night but by day she was on them flat irons and rollers while Matty was on the road with Bey. Don't forget he got himself fired for alleged drug use, knocking up one of Bey's backup dancers, and theft. All while Tina was in the background holding him down. Tina dont sound like she's easy to deal with, but what he's not going to do is discount her contributions when it was her money not his, the family was eating on while he was tip toe through the tulips on her.💅
Tina's hairshop supported the family when Matty quit his job. She was the primary bread winner not him.
Nahh, I heard she didn't believe in what Matty was doing with Bey and at one point they separated. Revisionist history is a thing.

If you can't see how much her work influenced one of the most successful girl groups of all time (and, subsequently, the greatest artist offshoot of said group)...you're deluding yourselves. Image is everything.
Poor Beyonce and Solange...my parents act the same way. The only picture I have of them is at my son's 2nd birthday. It was like bloods and crips at sky zone lmao 🤣
