Bail Denied

Mychal Bell, the sole defendant who remains behind bars from the group of teens known as the "Jena 6," will not be released today, a court decided. Bell, 17, has been in jail since his arrest more than nine months ago. It was not immediately clear what happened in court today, where Bell's attorneys had planned to push for his release. A source inside the court said the issue of bond was not discussed at the hearing. Attorneys did not immediately comment. The proceedings, involving a juvenile, are not open to media.

De La Hoya Swears Its Photoshop

When I saw these pictures yesterday I decided to wait until more of the story came out before I posted them, I'm glad I waited. These pictures of boxer Oscar De La Hoya were allegedly taken by a stripper from Scores West in NY. She swears up and down that Oscar likes to role play and pretend he's a girl named Goldie. She says he would fly her and a gang of friends around for parties. "They'd meet up in hotels, where the party could go on for days. There was a lot of tequila. It involved men and women. They indulged his every whim and taste. "He wore size 9 ladies shoes. He also liked wearing thigh-high nylons. He liked games. He and the girl would sit in a chair that they'd pretend was a motorcycle. He'd pretend he was the girl on the back of motorcycle. She'd be the guy. He'd grab her around the waist and squeal, 'Faster! Faster!" Oscar's people say it's photoshop, of course.

Mel B Abandons Kids to Elope in Las Vegas

Remember when Mel B ran off to Vegas to marry her duck killing second husband, Stephen Bellastandsbury? According to reports, she didn't even arrange a babysitter for the kids. Mel's former housekeeper said she left the kids with her for four days with no food, no nanny, plus the baby was sick. The housekeeper also said when Mel finally did call, she didn't even ask about the baby! Oh yeah, Mel's people denied the story with the obligatory, "disgruntled ex-employee just wants money" excuse.

In video taped testimony for the sexual harassment case filed against him, Isiah Thomas testified, "A white man calling a black female 'b***h,' that is wrong with me. I am not accepting that. That's a problem for me." But asked if he'd have a problem with a black man calling a black woman "b***h," Thomas said, "Not as much."

Mychael Bell Not Released From Prison

After sitting in jail for 10 months and having his conviction thrown out of court last Friday, Jena 6 defendant Mychael Bell was not released from prison yesterday as expected because neither the prosecutor nor the judge showed up for his bond hearing.

"We showed up. There was nobody there," said Bob Noel, lawyer for 17-year-old Mychal Bell of Jena, La. "No DA, no judge."

A woman who answered the phone at District Attorney Reed Walters' office said he had no bail procedure on his calendar.
