Police State

A Dallas police officer drew his gun during a traffic stop of Houston Texans running back Ryan Moats last week in which the officer kept Moats from going to the hospital room of his dying mother-in-law, the Dallas Morning News reported. According to the report, the officer, identified as Robert Powell, stopped the vehicle being driven by Moats in the hospital parking lot for going through a red light. Powell later told his superiors that he drew his gun but did not point it at anyone, according to the Morning News. Moats's wife and another relative ignored Powell's command to stop and went inside the hospital, and Moats's wife reportedly was by her mother's bedside when she died. Ryan Moats and another man remained outside while Powell lectured Moats, wrote a ticket and threatened to arrest him even after being told that by Moats that his mother-in-law was near death inside the hospital. After a delay of about 13 minutes, according to the Morning News, Powell allowed Moats to go inside the hospital, that after hospital staff members and another police officer interceded. Moats's mother-in-law, Jonetta Collinsworth, already had died by the time Moats arrived at her room, according to the report. Dallas police department officials have issued an apology and have reassigned Powell to dispatch pending an investigation, according to the Morning News.

Update: My bad. T.I. reported for sentencing today. He will not have to go to jail until May 19. T.I. is scheduled to report to a federal detention facility today to start his 1 year and 1 day prison sentence after he pled guilty to federal weapons charges a year ago. Well truthfully he'll probably only do about 10 months or so because his sentence was for more than a year, so he's entitled to shave 15 percent off his time for good behavior. He'll also get credit for the two weeks he sat in jail after his arrest and before he posted his 3 million dollar bail.

Bishop Weeks Owes Money

Yeah it's a slow news day. Sue me. Anyway, Bishop Weeks...you know the one. He was married to Juanita Bynum until he Chris Browned her ass in an Atlanta hotel parking lot. Anyway, Bishop Weeks was sued in 2007 by a former employee for not paying her back after he promised he would. Ex-Employee Lady says she was asked to purchase about $90,000.00 worth of stuff for Weeks' Global Destiny Church and was never reimbursed so she filed a lawsuit and Weeks agreed to pay her back but of course he never did. So Disgruntled Ex-Employee Lady went before a Gwinnett county judge and asked that Weeks be jailed for contempt of court. The judge will have to hear evidence to determine whether Weeks is in contempt or not. A hearing date has not yet been scheduled.

Wesley Snipes

is in trouble for going to a party in Dubai. A federal judge last year said Snipes could travel only to London and Bangkok for work on the movies "Gallowwalker" and "Chasing the Dragon."

"Defendant Snipes abused the Court's trust, and did so in a very public way," the U.S. Attorney's Office said in its motion. "For that reason alone, the Court should deny his current request for international travel." The federal prosecutors also asked that Snipes' bond be revoked pending the appeal.

Michael Vick Is Out Of Jail

The Federal Labor Department is accusing Vick, who was released from jail to home confinement yesterday, of making a series of prohibited transfers from a pension plan sponsored by MV7, a celebrity marketing company he owns. The department alleges that Vick violated his duties as trustee of the pension plan that covers nine current or former MV7 employees. They say he used the money to pay the criminal restitution imposed on him after his federal dogfighting conspiracy conviction.

Kobe Bryant's Maid Is Suing

because his wife Vanessa is a witch. Kobe's maid filed a lawsuit for invasion of privacy, emotional distress, unpaid wages and wrongful discharge. In the suit Miss Maid Lady says Vanessa routinely "badgered, harassed and humiliated" her by yelling, screaming and criticizing her in front of Kobe, their children, employees, other people in the house and called her lazy, slow, dumb, a fucking liar and a fucking piece of shit. The maid also says Vanessa accused her of stealing her retainer. Her retainer!? What the hell can anybody do with somebody else's retainer? Aren't they custom fit to your mouth? Anyway, Maid Lady says the last straw came when Vanessa forced her to put her hand in a bag of dog shit to retrieve a price tag of a shirt she'd put in the washer. Vanessa was furious that Maid had put the expensive piece in the wash and wanted the price tag so she would know how much to dock Maid's pay.

The gun toting thugs ransacked the house, took $170,000 worth of jewelry, some stereo equipment and the key to a Mercedes. The robbery is believed to be in retaliation for Suge getting his ass kicked by a member of Konvict during NBA All Star weekend.
