5 Years for Jayson Williams
Former NBA star Jayson Williams has been sentenced to 5 years in prison for the 2002 accidental shooting death of his limo driver Costas Christofi. Jayson will be eligible for parole in 18 months. During the sentencing, Christofi's sisters asked for the maximum sentence without parole and said Jayson never apologized to their family for killing Chris.
Hope You Weren't Waiting to See Evander on Dr. Phil
Cause it ain't gonna happen. Evander and his wife flew out to LA to meet with Dr. Phil and they say Evander felt Phil was being a man-basher so he backed out of them being on the show.
Things That Make You Go Hmmmm
Jay Z and New York Governor James Paterson are getting the side-eye because of who was chosen to run a multi-million dollar southeast Queens racetrack and casino. It's no secret that Governor Paterson is in love with Jay Z. He's been very vocal about his feelings, he even took time out of his busy schedule to send off an email to MTV agreeing with them for making Jay the hottest MC in the game last year. Love affair non-withstanding, Jay had been in talks with Las Vegas casino mogul Steve Wynn to partner with him in bidding for control of the Queens race track and casino. Nothing fishy about that. However, when Wynn backed out because the process was taking too long, and Jay partnered up with Aqueduct Entertainment Group, who many thought had the least chance in winning the bid, but lo and behold came out the winner, things started to look shady. Because of that Gov Paterson, Aqueduct and Jay are now all under federal investigation.

Monique won a Bafta Award, the British equivalent of an Oscar, for her role in the movie Precious last night. Though she wasn't there to accept her award, she's definitely one step closer to that Oscar.

and her new boo Matt Kemp. Matty's the one in the blue flannel. They say aside from the little stripper, Matt went all out and gifted RiRi with a custom made diamond necklace since her 21rst birthday was ruined by the beat-down last year.
