The Sale Is On...For Now
A.I. Out For The Season
One day after Allen Iverson declared he'd rather retire than play off the bench, Detroit Piston president Joe Dumas announced that A.I. was out for the rest of the season. After missing 16 games because of a 'sore back' Allen had this to say, "I'm in a position now that I've never been in my whole life. It's harder than I thought it would be. With the back injury, I have to sit out at the start, then go in, then sit again. It's tough to really get going. I take my hat off to the guys who can come off the bench and be effective. It's tough for me. I'm struggling with it. I'd rather retire before I do this again."
Coolio Two Hours Late For Court
Coolio pled not guilty last Friday to one felony count of cocaine possession and two misdemeanor assault charges from that time he got arrested [click here if you missed it] at LAX with crack rocks in his carry-on luggage. The misdemeanor charges are because Coolio grabbed the TSA screener's arm to keep her from searching his bag. Oh, and he showed up two hours late for court. The judge was not amused. Coolio is due back in court on April 20th and faces up to three years in prison if convicted.

Plaxico Burress Cut
Talk about shooting yourself in the foot. Or in the leg in Plaxico Burress' case. If you'll recall [click here if you can't], NY Giant Plaxico Burress got arrested back in December for shooting himself in the leg at a NY city night club with an unlicensed gun. The Giants benched Plax shortly after, suspending him without pay for the last four games of the season [not that he could've played anyway]. The other shoe dropped yesterday when the Giants cut Plax from their roster. He's due back in court on second degree gun charges June 15.

Diddy Being Sued Again
Sean Combs has been hit with a copyright infringement lawsuit by a little-known R&B singer amid allegations the hip-hop mogul stole a song for his rap group Boyz N Da Hood. Troy Hicks, whose stage name is Rhythum, claims Boyz N Da Hood's 2007 track Table Dance lifts chunks of his recording Private Dancer, which was previously released on independent label Real Life Entertainment. Hicks has named Boyz N Da Hood, Combs' label Bad Boy Records, Atlantic Recording Corporation and Block Entertainment in the legal papers, which were recently filed in a Dallas, Texas court.
