During a recent divorce hearing Vernon was forced to admit his bank account was currently overdrawn and that he makes only $282.00 a month cutting hair at his barber shop.
Barbara Winfrey, who is trying to force Vernon to pay alimony and her legal bills, insists Vernon is just trying to starve her out because he receives a $25,000 allowance from Oprah every three months.
Vernon filed for divorce from Barbara five days after their 12th wedding anniversary accusing her of inappropriate marital conduct and citing irreconcilable differences.

But he also saw the changes in O and didn't like the person that she became after the money and fame-that's why he talked to Kitty Kelly for her book (good book btw).

I believe that Vernon and Barbara married for the wrong reasons (see 11:32 for link to article). She married him for the $ she thought he had and he married her so he wouldn't be alone. Too bad love was nowhere to be found in the marriage.

You act like he took in a stray dog and that she should lick his hand out of gratitude!
It was his job to provide shelter and food for his daugther. In fact, if he had married her mother, it would have been a non-issue and he could have protected his daughter from the sex predators on her mother's side of the family.
He chose himself over his daughter. And he didn't do her any favors by shaming her for becoming pregnant.
And hon, coming from that pack of hyenas from both Mom and Dad's side, O had to be highly self motivated to get herself far and awau from that mess.
I am sure that Vernon takes ALL of the credit for O's success, but I bet you he will not take any of the heat for the wrong that he did to her.
