T.I.'s Best Friend's Murders Caught

Two years ago a childhood friend of T.I. was killed in a drive-by shooting after friction at a concert after-party in a Cincinnati night club. What had happened was, T.I. and his group was in the VIP....

...and local hoodstars, brothers, Hosea, 34, and Padron Thomas, 40, wanted to get in VIP but couldn't. A scuffle broke out and at one point one of the brothers was hit in the head with a bottle. Tempers also flared in the club when Young Jock started throwing money into the crowd. Anyway, when Tip and them left in two vans, the Thomas brothers followed in two SUVs. Next thing you know, there's gunfire being exchanged from their moving vehicles, killing T.I.'s best friend, Philant Johnson, and wounding several others. T.I. was slightly injured by flying glass. Hosea Thomas, who has a criminal history that includes drug possession and trafficking convictions, was arrested in the 6900 block of Montgomery Road in Silverton and was booked into the Hamilton County Jail Wednesday morning without bond. Padron Thomas, a listed sex offender, was previously convicted of robbery and rape. He is in the custody of the U.S. Marshal’s Service for an unrelated drug case. The Thomas brothers were each charged with murder and seven counts of felonious assault – one for each person inside the rapper’s vehicles. Hosea Thomas was also charged with having weapons despite a previous conviction and Padron Thomas was also charged with tampering with evidence.
