The Defense Rests in the R Kelly Case

After calling only 12 witnesses over two days, in stark contrast to the prosecution's parade of 22 witnesses over 7 days, and without R Kelly or the alleged victim taking the stand, the defense rested yesterday...
after trying to cast doubt on whether or not the jurors saw a mole on the back of the man in the video, which would prove it was R Kelly, whether or not the girl in the video was Kelly's, at the time, 13 year old goddaughter, and the validity of the testimony of Lisa Van Allen who claims to have had three-way sex with R Kelly and his underage lover. The first one of you armchair editors to rip me for that long sentence is gonna get it! The prosecution is expected to put two rebuttal witnesses on the stand today and deliberations will start on Thursday.

And here's something for you to chew on while we wait for the verdict. R Kelly believes his former manager and late singer Aaliyah's uncle, Barry Hankerson, is the one who leaked the infamous tape. Kelly said in an interview with CBS news shortly after tape hit the streets, “I have an ex-manager, you know, that I let go awhile ago. And ever since these people have been trying to come at me and trying to blackmail me. The reason these things are happening, I really do believe, is because of the fact that I didn’t fall back as far as blackmail is concerned. I didn’t give them any money,” Kelly said. Like it had nothing to do with the fact that Kells had been sexing Hankerson's niece, Aaliyah, married her when she was only 15 and then fired Barry a week after she died in a plane crash.
