requiring medics to conduct a physical examination of a patient 30 days before cosmetic surgery passed the Senate in California yesterday. California Assemblywoman Wilmer Amina Carter tells the Los Angeles Times, "Sometimes patients may think they are well enough for cosmetic surgery, but in reality are not. This bill will potentially save lives." The next step is for the bill is to be approved and signed into law by Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger, which is fully expected.
