Monica Wouldn't be Still Standing Without Twitter


Monica credits the success of her new cd 'Still Standing' to Twitter because fans were able to tell her exactly which stores didn't have any copies in stock.

J Records shipped a very conservative number of Monica's new CD out to stores, prompting frustrated fans to reach out to her on Twitter. In a recent interview Monica revealed,

"They would say, 'I can't find the CD and I'm pissed, so I said, 'Look, you assist me in doing what I need to do...' I would call into the (record label) office and because of Twitter I would know the store, the location and the amount of CDs that were there."
"We drop-shipped to all these different stores."
'Still Standing' debuted at no.2 after selling more than 187,000 copies in it's first week, and after a month still sits in the top ten ranking no.6 after selling more than 300,000 copies so far.
