Wyclef is Not Taking it Well

Wyclef  Jean cannot get over his name being excluded from the the list of eligible candidates to run for Haiti and is blaming trickery for his exclusion.

Wyclef says,
"Even before our work began friends in Haiti and abroad had warned me that much trickery would be used to block me. The result: CEP has proved it true. They violated the constitution to benefit their families and their friends who continue to live off the people's money. Are you going to continue to support people who do not respect the fundamental law of the country?"

Meanwhile, any plans Wyclef may have to appeal the ruling have been bluntly shot down.

Samuel Pierre of the provisional election council (CEP)'s legal department explains that under article 191 of Haiti's electoral law, rulings by the election authority's disputes tribunal are definitive and cannot be appealed.
"Therefore there is absolutely no possibility for Wyclef Jean to be added to the list of candidates approved to run in the next presidential elections," Pierre said. "So it's over."

"This is a waste of time because, when it comes to electoral matters, the electoral council is the Supreme Court, meaning there is nowhere else to go," he said.
