Pac Man Doesn't Want to Pay for His Bentley

Adam "doesn't like to be called Pac Man anymore" Jones is about to have his NFL salary garnished because he stopped paying for his Lamborghini and his Bentley.

Attorneys for Cincinnati Bengals cornerback, Adam Jones, who now is injured and not playing, argued Thursday before Common Pleas Court Judge Ralph "Ted" Winkler that the $250,000 he has been ordered to pay to a New York car company is invalid because Jones never was served with the legal paperwork that proved that judgment was transferred to Hamilton County.

In 2008, Elegante Leasing Co. won a judgment in New York when a judge there ruled Jones defaulted on leases for a 2005 Lamborghini Gallardo Coupe and a 2006 Bentley Flying Spur. The New York judge ruled Jones owed the car company $240,925 because he stopped making payments and crashed the Bentley but didn't pay for its repairs.

In September 2005, legal documents show, Jones leased the Bentley for five years for $218,632. Jones made the initial payment of $70,000 and monthly payments of $2,519 through March 2008 but stopped paying after that. He also damaged the car, requiring $58,000 in repairs - money the leasing company said it had to pay to get the Bentley back.

"This judgment has been on for almost a year," Winkler said Thursday, noting that the legal order properly was transferred from New York to Hamilton County. Jones now lives in Columbia Tusculum.
