Patti Labelle Sued Over Airport Attack

A drunken West Point cadet learned the hard way not to get too close to Patti Labelle's luggage at the airport...

On March 11th Richard King was waiting for his ride at the Bush Intercontinental airport in Houston when he walked near Patti LaBelle's limo while it was being loaded with her luggage. Richard claims Patti rolled down her window Don Diva style and ordered her goons to attack him for being too close.

The police report, however, paints a different picture. The report describes Richard, who was home from West Point on Spring Break, as appearing intoxicated and smelling of alcohol and lists him as the suspect.

Richard is suing Patti for an undisclosed amount and names her bodyguards, the airport and a taxi dispatcher as co-defendants.

According to his suit Richard, who played defensive back for Army, was told by his doctors he can never play football again because of his injuries. Richie is the grandson of former Texas Tech University football coach J.T. King.

Houston police reported the incident to West Point, who suspended Richard for at least one year and ordered he go on active duty.

Raw video footage of the attack has been posted online.
