Young Vito Turns Himself In

Last Friday Vinson 'Young Vito' Hardimon was named a suspect in the shooting death of up and coming Atlanta rapper Mario 'Slim Dunkin' Hamilton [click here if you missed that].

On Monday, the day after Christmas, Young Vito turned himself in...

After contacting Atlanta homicide detectives through his lawyer, a newly shorn Vito turned himself in to Atlanta Police headquarters. From there Vito was taken to the Fulton jail where he is being held on murder and gun possession charges pending a bond hearing.

Vito has prior arrests ranging from traffic violations to aggravated assault and child cruelty, all of which, by the way, included the use of a firearm.

Investigators are still trying to piece together the facts behind the shooting.

"There were at least 30 people in the studio at the time of the shooting," Atlanta police homicide Det. David Quinn said. "They should get in touch with me. We want the facts. It's the right thing to do."

Police are asking that anyone with information in this case call Crime Stoppers Atlanta at 404-577-8477 or contact Quinn at 404-245-8039.
