Back in January word spread that CBS was pulling out all the stops to lure Martin Lawrence back to television, including filming two separate pilots for him to choose from [click here if you missed that].
Well Martin didn't choose either of them and the studio came up with a whole new scenario...

In what will likely be the last pilot order this season, CBS has given a late green light to an untitled multi-camera comedy starring Martin Lawrence. The project, written by Mike Lisbe and Nate Reger and produced by CBS TV Studios, stars Lawrence as a widowed father of two teenagers who, after losing his job in construction, decides to go to the police academy and become a cop at the age of 46.
