Janet Jackson Digs Wells in Madagascar

Billionaire rock star turned philanthropist Janet Jackson paid for three badly needed wells for a small village in Madagascar...

From Fresh 2 o
Fresh2o supported the putting-in-place of eight boreholes, installed with hand-pumps, in Vohitsaoka "commune" (Ambalavao district, Haute Matsiatra region) between November 2012 and March 2013.
In light of the dire situation of Vohitsaoka's population, who suffer from chronic diarrhoeal disease and bilharzias, particularly during the rainy season, two neighbourhoods (Soamiaradia & Ambohimana) were prioritised for boreholes.
The eight boreholes have brought clean drinking water to 1,128 villagers and 967 students.
Thanks go to all who donated to the project and Janet Jackson - who funded three of the wells.
