Darren Sharper Denies NOLA Rape Charge


Last week after former NFL running back Darren Sharper was arrested and booked on two separate rape charges in Los Angeles a third investigation came to light about a women who'd accused Darren of rape in New Orleans [click here if you missed that].

While keeping mum on the LA charges Darren denies the accusations in the New Orleans case...

Darren's lawyers tell TMZ,
"There were numerous witnesses who observed the [accuser] on her own and also observed her after encountering Sharper."
... the witnesses say the accuser was "following him willingly throughout the evening" and claims surveillance footage syncs up with the witness accounts.
"No evidence suggests or implies that a sexual assault occurred."
The video tape has been turned over to investigators.

“On 09/24/13, Detective Derrick Williams of the New Orleans Police Department Special Victims section investigated the sexual assault of a [age redacted] female. The victim stated she consumed a large amount of alcohol on Sunday, September 23, 2013. The victim stated she went to a couple bars where she continued having alcoholic beverages. The victim stated she met the perpetrator at one of the bars, and he took her to his apartment and sexually assaulted her. The victim stated she did not consent to any sexual encounter. The investigation is open and ongoing.”
Darren Sharper is due in court to face charges in the LA case on February 14, 2014.
