Columbus pleaded not guilty to felony aggravated battery charges at his arraignment yesterday and was released on bond.

Columbus and his alleged victim had reached an out-of-court settlement but negotiations broke down after Columbus was fired from his job on the ABC drama Scandal following a series of bizarre events including a rambling interview on the Tom Joyner show and a domestic violence situation with his estranged wife Tanee McCall-Short.

Columbus is facing four years in prison if convicted.
