Kerry Washington Slams Beyonce For Staying with Jay Z?

Sources claim Kerry Washington is disappointed with Beyonce for sending the message to her millions of impressionable female fans that sticking with a cheating spouse is perfectly acceptable...

From Dish Nation,
Emmy nominated TV star Kerry Washington has privately ripped the singer for not doing enough to empower young African American girls.
The 37-year-old star of the hit ABC show, who’s a political activist and outspoken feminist, “hates how Beyonce relies on her body and sexual innuendo to sell records,” an insider told Dish Nation.
“Kerry thinks Beyonce should spend less time shaking her booty and more time pushing other agendas, like the value of education and healthy eating, as well as promoting book reading.”
“To Kerry, it seems like Beyonce is sending a message to young women that standing by your man, even if he cheats on you, is perfectly acceptable. While Kerry’s peers, like Beyonce, exploit themselves for career advancement, she’s happy to keep her private life under wraps and let her talent do the talking. Kerry wishes Beyonce would do the same.”

Says the bitch who was pregnant before Hollywood made her marry the Nigerian.

Says the bitch who plays a white man's ho on television, which tells millions of impressionable, gullible and self-hating Black bitches that it's ok to fuck a white married man in power.

Says the bitch who cooned on SNL and played up every black/latina stereotype on there.

Kerry shut the fuck up and go get your lisp fixed, bitch!

Where is Kerry's husband at though? And why did it take her 37 years to get married and pregnant? What woman isn't settled by almost 40? Strange generation.

What we are watching is the dismantling of that whack image of "Beyonce" being some moral leader to young girls. Now Hollywood is slowly but surely crafting her fall from grace.

The funny thing is Jay is going to come out on top once this is over watch. As you can see they are outright calling him a cheater for now, but once he and his handlers put there spin to this story its a wrap. Dont be surprised when you here abt Bey's drinking problems, insecurity issues, post partum depression, and lack of education (Jay cant hold a decent convo wit her). All come to light soon. Honestly wish they both vanished but Jay doesnt plan on exiting anytime soon.

Anonymous said...

@1:37 snitch doesnt need to pit anyone against anyone. Once you part of Hollywood you aint black no more. Youre owned and told what to say and when to say it. They (Kerry, and Bey) are as white as Lindsay Lohan if you ask me......

Lol it's Beyoncé's job to tell your kids to eat healthy and read a book? Silly me, here I was thinking that was the parents job. When will idiots realize that an "entertainer's" job is to entertain not raise other people's kids.

Anonymous said...

Kerry, you do know that Beyonce nor her husband never graduated from high school, so why would she promote education? You also know that based on interviews, Beyonce cannot carry on an intelligent conversion. She literally sounds like she fell off a turnip. Kerry, do not have high expectations for Beyonce because what is really best for Beyonce is to continue with the status for it is really the best she can do. IJS

The way that you demented bitches talk bad about Beyonce and anticipate her downfall (drinking, divorce, etc.), leads me to believe that you won't be satisfied until something truly happens to her. You bitches are the type to rejoice if CNN or MSNBC suddenly reports that Beyonce is injured or something.

THIS ALL DAY! I will never understand why below-average parents expect a celebrity or public figure to "positively influence" *their* children. This is one of the most dysfunctional expectations of all time. If I were a singer or a public figure, I would not give a damn (sorry for the profanity) about other peoples' kids because my job would be to perform, sing, dance, etc.

Anonymous said...

Sounds like anyone expecting their kids to get all their morality lessons from celebrities are not only A) bad parents but also B) lazy parents. It's not a singers job to make sure your kids are well educated, eating healthy, and reading books. Sorry! Get off your lazy ass turn off the TV and parent your own damn kids. 2:27, Kerry voluntarily plays a bed wench on television. Who is she to speak on another woman's (Bey's acceptance of her husband's (Jay-Z's) alleged infidelity when the character that she (Kerry) plays is not only contributing to infidelity, but is also contributing to the Black Jezebel archetype of Black American women? Honestly, playing a white man's whore, in my opinion, is more detrimental to Black women than a single, solitary woman (Bey) accepting her husband's infidelity.

Anonymous said...

I love the fact that you all recognize the role of a parentS (Meaning BOTH Parents for the slow people) and not having the TV raise your children. Now tell your cousins, your peers, and all them backwards ass people you see in real life to catch up.

@1:57pm I totally agree with you. Ppl forgets that Jayz had a couple of platinum plaques under his belt before he got with Bey. Jay had to change up his image due to that assault charge against him. If him and Bey choose get a divorce, I could see him re-inventing himself and probably getting Dame Dash back on board rebuilding roc nation. So I feel he is going to be alright at the end of day.

...But why does Kerry care about this? Shouldn't her main focus be her own philandering husband and her daughter? Like, bitches need to stay in their places, mind their business, and know their roles. You think I'm going to give a damn about Tasha or Nicole (fictional women) staying with their cheating husbands when I need to make sure that my own marriage is in tact? Bitches have too much time to devote to another woman's life.

Kerry gets a little benefit of the doubt, because she is an actress, working from script someone else wrote, and working on a show that other people are in control of.

Yeah, she could have refused the role, but it's not like this is the only type of role she has ever played, and it's not like she will always be playing some white man's side chick. She has played dignified characters too.

Beyonce, on the other hand, is a singer, who has much more control over the image she presents to the world at large, especially a singer of her stature.

She goes on stage every night acting like a glorified stripper who brags about her drug dealer husband being her pimp. Where is the dignity in that?

Beyonce has enough authority and control over her image and her career to present a more wholesome or professional image, but she chooses not to.

Oh please. This rumor is so fake and transparent. Kerry didn't even reveal her birth or marriage until way after it happened, so do you really think she would openly share an unfavorable opinion on Beyonce? Now Kerry is being used to prop up Beyonce. I guess there are no other female R&B singers available at the moment to discredit while uplifting Beyonce. Don't people get tired of falling for the same PR scheme? If Kelly wasn't pregnant and laying low, she would have been used in a rumor to keep Beyonce's name in the news. Beyonce's PR team is so desperate that they have ventured into using black actresses names for imaginary catfights and for her delusional Beyhive to diss online. There's no way Beyonce should be praised for female empowerment. Look at the how she will use other black women just for the sake of maintaining her popularity.

^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^
That's the whole problem in a nutshell. There are too many parents not parenting their children, so their children look elsewhere for education, guidance, love, role models, hope, faith, stability, morals, etc, etc, etc,... Hence our over crowding male and female prisons. I agree this falls upon the parents but times have changed and not for the better. Many of these adults don't want adult responsibilities, so they shy away from them and more or less end up competing with their kids. The problems lies therein, when their kids become our problem. Then we've got kids who come from good homes doing dumb shit, illegal shit because the want to emulate their idols and be cool. Knowing damn well they didn't have it to do. SMH.

That's because you can't get away from hearing about her across all the media.

The other day, I had to change the tv channel 3 times trying to avoid conversations about Beyonce and Jay Z. On one show, they were talking about that dumb ass Stephen A Smith and his comments about domestic violence, but they had to insert Beyonce and Jay Z into it.

Another show was talking about these fake divorce rumors, and the third show I just turned the tv off completely when I heard the name Beyonce.

I'm not a hater, but you have to admit that the media is saturated with her.

You don't get it because im sure you're just as ratchet as the same people you're defending. These celebs especially black celebs should be held responsible for their actions. There should be no way we have allowed Jay Z/Kanye to go around the world singing N's in Paris.. .allowing other races to say it! Then ya'll want to talk about how white folks treating blacks.
We have no self pride or cultural pride and this is why most ignorant people think these celebs shouldn't have a social responsibility. Why not? They are putting us down on a social level. We are the only race to calls ourselves derogatory words.

So, you don't care about the kids who are in foster homes, group homes, etc ? The ones who don't have relationships with their parents? So we should just let them fall by the wayside because they shouldn't have been born?

Anonymous said...

Black people always looking for some to blame all their problems on. Your fast tale daughter (who probably ain't got a father in her life) is acting wild and out of control and that's Beyoncé's fault? Your child is uneducated and failing school, and it's because Beyoncé never told them to read more books? Your child is fat lazy and out of shape and it's Beyoncé's fault because she never spoke publicly about eating healthy (even though she has with her move your body campaign)... If your child grows up to be a useless dysfunctional mess, guess what no one is going to say (they probably listened to too Beyoncé music) NO! They're going to say that person is TRASH because that's how their parents raised them!

Anonymous said...

@503
Stop switching it around. No one has to care about Beyoncé's life to take in images that she and her husband are portraying. Who do you think Beyoncé and Jay Z markets to? Kids!!!! which means they are instilling images into kids subconscious minds who don't have adults (caring) to steer them in the right direction.

I care, you know why? These kids will be robbing your butt or killing because they are trying to live the images they see these celebs live. Jay Z and Beyoncé are on tour right now that is based off Bonnie and Clyde who were murderers.
Why is it okay for these celebs to pump poisonous images into the atmosphere without any consequences?

Anonymous said...

For you who don't think these celebs aren't responsible have already been brain washed. You too are sheep, who is herding along inside the box as zombies.

Anonymous said...

"So, you don't care about the kids who are in foster homes, group homes, etc ? The ones who don't have relationships with their parents? So we should just let them fall by the wayside because they shouldn't have been born?"

^^^What does this have to do with Beyoncé or any other celeb? The surrounding communities should come together and help mentor and raise these kids if they're so concerned. How many foster kids in your area have YOU taken under YOUR wing and tried to help raise and set a good example for? I don't care how you slice it and dice it, entertainers are here to entertain not set the moral standard for young kids. Entertainers themselves are not perfect and have major issues so why would anyone expect them to be role models for good behavior?

Anonymous said...

@521
It has to do with them because the article is about Kerry making statements about Beyoncé....
My point is all celebs have a social responsibility. There are kids in foster homes/group homes who don't have caring adults to steer them in the right direction when it comes to modeling the images they see...
As a person, you should want the best for yourself, your culture, your community, the youth, etc. and if there is music talking about drinking cum, or N's in paris then that is not the best.
You're sheep anyway, so no point in continuing with you.

Anonymous said...

5:18 so people who believe celebs aren't responsible to raise other peoples kids are brainwashed? That sounds like something a lazy parent who failed at raising their child so now they're looking for someone to blame, would say. Plenty of kids were raised in the 80's and 90's and witnessed Prince, Janet, Madonna, Lil Kim and a whole list of other raunchy entertainers, and yet they turned out to be perfectly normal functioning adults. I have yet to hear a single soul say my life is a hot mess because I watched 1 too many Madonna videos or I bought 1 too many lil Kim records. Give me a break! Turn off the TV and radio, limit and monitor your kids internet use. Buy them basic flip phones instead of smartphones, home school them... I mean I could go on and on. It is no ones responsibility other than the parents to make sure their child is being exposed to appropriate things, and to make sure they are being raised properly.

Adult authors should no longer be able to write adult themed books because kids might get their hands on it? Rated R movies should be banned all over the world because kids might see them? Basically everyone is suppose to live in a censored bubble, even adults without kids because, that would be the only way to stop kids from seeing images that are not appropriate for them. Any child with internet access are only one click away from seeing things way WAY worse than what Beyoncé or any other celebrity has to offer, so what do you suppose we do about that? Ban the internet?

Anonymous said...

@533
Yes, one has to be brainwashed to believe celebs shouldn't have any social responsibility. Thanks for mentioning Prince/Janet/Madonna.. they all knew their platform and used it! Janet was very adamant about kids/young adults, she spoke out on numerous occasions even dedicated Rhythm Nation for people to come together, looking for a better way of life! Madonna was an advocate for safe sex and exploring but being safe. Prince was all about artistry, making good records and putting other artist on in the industry to give them a platform.

I agree its up to the parents in a functioning household to mentor their kids. But, not everyone has parents... so those kids are most impressionable because they are looking for images to connect to. Havent you heard people tell artist such as Beyoncé, "listening to your song changed my life", I was going to commit suicide but I heard your song". This means they have an impression on people. Why not use that for good? The consumers are paying these celebs bills, why are we not expecting them to have social responsibility?
No one has said listening to Prince/Janet/Madonna ruined my life, but you can see these latest artist are apart of ruining our culture or others lives? We see it everyday, boys portraying what Lil Wayne raps "Wife,Girlfriend, Mistress" persona etc. the list goes on.

When the kids leave the home to go to school, etc.. they interact with your bad kids who you allow to listen to artist such as Jay Z, Beyoncé, Rihanna, Wayne, etc.

Why are people acting like Beyoncé started this bad role model trend....uhmm NWA....2live crew.....patty labelle marmalade ....solid gold dancers...the wire....Donald Gaines....tony Braxton in that dress...too short....Martin making fun of Pam...will chamber land sleeping with 1000 hoes. Every athlete in the 90s. Ice t, Maury show,. And for people that hate Beyoncé you all stay pressed about her, but do nothing about going to the dmv to get an id so you can vote in the next election. I go to a black college and Beyoncé got nothing to do with them girls walking about in short shorts and weave to their knees or most of them acting a fool in class and not doing they homework like they back in high school. Dont see any of you "she needs to set an example" making a difference in the local areas....you live a sad and pathetic life. You live to come in here and make numerous post about the Carter's while congress is slowly taking away your rights and your neighborhood. Critical thinking is lacking in black America.

Not saying adults shouldn't be able to express themselves. Be conscious in what you are feeding to people. Have self respect as black women not to sing about giving a man head or busting it open or have respect as a black man not to rap about selling our people drugs and how great you are because of it.
This wasn't happening back in the day. Yes, Madonna was raunchy but she wasn't blunt singing about im drinking his cum, etc. There is a way to handle things, and I think we have allowed our music to be so tainted we can even see it.
Now black people will call you a hater because you hve an opinion about they way of things, now black people are scared to speak up or speak against something because they will be deemed as jealous/hater/etc.
When NWA came out Maxine Waters helped lead the fight to ban their music or get censorship so the songs are played after a certain hour. Now, we say nothing. We are allowing these artist to ruin our culture and allowing other races to look down on us.
White kids listen to rap music and move on with their day, black kids listen to rap music and live that lifestyle because they think its cool.

I love how people act like Beyoncé invented the game no sweet heart she's just one of the many many player. If I remember correctly just a few months ago Rihanna was walking around butt ass naked in a see through dress and so many people on this blog was screaming "FIERCE!!!" Not one person said "think of the children and the message this sends to them." Plenty of people also advocated and saw nothing wrong when she first got back with her abuser Chris brown. No one cared what type of image that sent to young impressionable kids. Y'all love to pick and chose which celebrity should be socially responsible... While others get to run wild and it's excused as them just being "young and having fun". Y'all need to STOP either you care about ALL celebs being good role models or you don't care at all and are just singling out Beyoncé because y'all are biased and clearly have it out for her no matter what.

Sorry, Kerry, but you're talking about a woman who's known the world over as a first class dummy. People love to leave out the fact that Beyoncé is singing raunchy lyrics ABOUT HER HUSBAND! So these "impressionable young kids" need to take that in to account. If they model their life after her then they should look at her REAL life not her stage life! They better work hard starting at the age of 16 like her, they better make sure not to sleep around with millions of different men so they aren't linked to millions of different men like she isn't, they better date a man who is their equal or better, like she did. They better date for many years BEFORE marriage, like she did. They better start a family AFTER the wedding like she did. If they do all that then they would truly be living their life based off of Beyoncé and not her stage persona, which is meant entirely for entertainment purposes.

6:29 I'm not a Beyoncé Stan that's #1

And #2 that's exactly my point it's always about Beyoncé! For at least the last ten years the conversation is always about how it's Beyoncé's job to be the perfect role model and blah blah blah,

My point is there are people who came before, and there will be people after Beyoncé so why is she always the focus I don't get it.

Actually, Beyoncé's and the Obama's created the "im a role model" persona..
Yes, it is always about Beyoncé.... and I agree its overboard. But, if the article is about Beyoncé then that what the comments will be geared towards. We not in a juicy fruit thread, this thread is specifically about Beyoncé. People cant get mad if the comments are on subject.
Media makes Beyoncé the focus, us regular people not posting the stories.... Also, Beyoncé is guilty of always trying to be the focus.. she has proven that.

Are you kidding me?! It's a celeb's job/duty to mentor/positively influence YOUR children?! Stop laying up on your ass and having children that you don't really want and can't truly take care of! I have a daughter who's 14 and the only people that *owe* her anything is her father and I! You people sound mentally disturbed insinuating that a celebrity is "socially responsible." Socially responsible for what exactly? Truth be told, most of the celebrities have too many problems of their own to be your kid's impromptu mentor/guidance counselor. Be a parent, you lazy ass bums!
4:52 PM
----------------------------Honey, you can scream and shout about it from the highest mountain top until the cows come home and you turn blue in the face, but the REALITY of this situation obviously takes more than you chastising and trying to shame the stupid, ignorant, lazy people whose created this problem in the first place. And because it is out of our control, (meaning I bet you can't walk up on these trifling people and state your comment without having to fight to save your own ass afterwards)...how these people parent their seeds. Placing it on a blog is one factor but REALITY is another, no? But what we can control is some of the messed up images/messages all of our kids get exposed to. There's no argument about what a parent should do, but how many parents today are actually parenting the way you and I feel that they should? Better shaping some of the images they see is a small answer to a big problem, but it's a start. As long as we try something besides internet shaming to help the less fortunate kiddies out there. I don't want to see the future of our kids hopeless.

Anonymous said...

6:47 but if the discussion turns into how celebrities are suppose to be socially responsible for young impressionable kids, then is it not appropriate to bring to light the hypocrisy of how some black celebs aren't asked to behave as role models, yet others are?

Anonymous said...

It's incredibly obvious that majority of you who 'hate' Beyoncé have severe, severe mental deficiencies. You're not being forced to frequent this blog or its constant barrage of stories about Beyoncé. You choose to come on here and get your feelings and spirits in a frenzy over this woman. Beyoncé doesn't owe any of you weirdly obsessed miscreants anything. There's an entire world out there and you all choose to spend time on here going back and forth about Beyoncé and everything that she does. How are your actions productive to your community? To yourselves? While you're sitting on here trying to blame Beyoncé for your illiterate, fat, and unhappy children, there's a young Black boy or girl somewhere in the ghetto needing a story read to them or needing a hot, home cooked meal to eat. Are any of you 'haters' volunteering your time and awareness to any real social causes? Since Beyoncé is corrupting Black youth, have any you written to Congress or government officials to have her music and videos banned? Have any of you drafted a real petition to boycott all things Beyoncé? Of course not. You idiots come on here and type the same things about her probably everyday. You all are a sad, pathetic, useless bunch of embarrassments to the world. Gross. Beyoncé is least of your concerns. Your ignorance and waste of life should strongly concern you all! Bye!

If they can't stand and unite for the future generations to come. So that they are given a chance to succeed in life, then they're not really standing for anything of importance. Years ago many people protested and expressed their disdain for stereo types of black people that hurt us and our communities, nowadays, these people are mute and welcoming a hopeless future for our young. They don't care but are hurt to the core when some young black person grows into an adult and cause hurt and harm to their family. It's unfortunate how the people of today continue to skate on the backs of those who came and fought before us. No one takes up a cause because they just don't care anymore.

The gay community don't allow anything to be released that is not in alignment with the images they want portrayed. They dont allow anyone to disrespect them and the gay community will pull an ad, an artist, a movie, etc if they dont agree. The gay community shows their social responsibility (for their group) ... We as blacks accept anything, and if we disagree we are haters or jealous. That's why nothing is changing, people are too scared to be labeled a hater of Beyoncé or anything else they are against or opinions of...

Look at their "who cares" attitude.. .to think Martin Luther fought for our freedom, just so we can sing about Bitches/Hos. All those people died for no reason.... we are still slaves.

There are a lot of college kids, and other successful black students, who are healthy and well balanced who might listen to Beyonce, or watch her videos or download her album. Is she responsible for their successful behavior as well... Any logical person would say no. Yet if a child is poorly raised and lacks morals Beyoncé somehow is to blame?... There are way too many factors that go into raising a child to just place ALL the blame and responsibility on celebrities in the mainstream media. Like I said if someone grows up listening to the same music and are exposed to the same images and yet they turn out all right then are celebrities and the mainstream media accredited for that? The answer is no.

I'm no Beyonce fan, but I don't get these people claiming that Beyonce is a role model and responsible for how their kids grow up.

Michelle Obama made some bogus statement about Beyonce being a role model for her daughters, but we all know that shit wasn't true. The Obama girls will be Ivy League grads with multiple degrees, like their parents, not pussy popping poptarts like Beyonce.

Black people need to stop looking for a leader and learn to lead our own families and in our local communities. Why are we still looking for some savior to wave a magic wand and make the world perfect for us?

Beyonce is not Jesus. She is not the savior of black people.

She only has one kid. It's not her job to be a role model for RayQuan and Boomqueesha.

7:16, Excellent point. I graduated last year with my Masters in Higher Education with a concentration in Human Resource Development. Guess what? I just went to JayZ and Beyoncé's On The Run Tour stop in New Jersey earlier this month...and I've been to ALL of Bey's solo tours. She sings and dances for me. I think she's a good entertainer--and that's all she really is. If I want social and cultural inspiration, I'll listen to speeches by Kwame Ture or Dr. Huey P. Newton. Never, ever has Beyoncé had an indirect OR direct affect on my morality, consciousness, etc. To hold a celebrity--who has no idea you're on Earth--accountable for your personal life is strange, sad, and strange again.

Where is the outrage then? Where is the outrage every time Tyler Perry makes a movie portraying the angry black woman stereotype along with a whole list of other offensive stero types? maybe you are looking in the wrong places, there is all kinds of black lash but you only see the ones about Beyoncé. Christians speak out against music/tv/ect and they are rejected, black people speak out and they are rejected. People are trying to speak out to change things, but people like you call them Haters and Jealous.

Its funny how you guys only see people coming at Beyoncé, but you ignore the backlash other people are getting.
As example, Lil Wayne had to apologize to the Tubman family for is lyrics because of the outrage. Rick Ross had to apologize for his lyrics due to the outrage. Rihanna is always criticized, etc.
But that's okay right, as long as its not Beyoncé?
Protecting Beyoncé and no one else is hypocritical cause I could have sworn people were calling her a whore on the last post about her here.

I suggest you start there instead of with singers and rappers

Lil Wayne apologized because he said something extremely hurtful and offensive. Beyoncé singing "surfboard" or "Monica Lewinsky on my gown" may be tasteless, but then again don't listen if that's how you feel. And again just listen to any rap album and you would hear things 10x worse than that.

Ingmar's Prophetess said...

Trust: aint NOBODY looking at Beyoncé as a role model for young women. Even Beyoncé herself knows THAT. She knows that with her high level of illiteracy, young women aren't paying her any attention. The majority of young women are in college getting advanced degrees in things that matter, and are striving to live well through having REAL careers. Beyoncé is what she is to them - comic relief. Nothing more. I don't see any young women taking her seriously, and if she were to come down off of the pedestal certain people have put her own, she wouldn't be able to compete against young women who are college educated. She would fail miserably and young women would step right over her ass and keep it pushing.

MLK, Rosa Parks, Harriet Tubman, and others were ORDINARY PEOPLE who worked hard and accomplished great things.

MLK was a middle class minister who ended up being the spokesperson for the movement.

Rosa Parks was an investigator for the NAACP. She investigated rape cases where black women had been raped or gang raped by white men.

Harriet Tubman was a slave who helped her fellow slaves.

All NORMAL REGULAR PEOPLE.

All of us can aspire to do great things. All we have to do is to put time and energy into doing positive things for our families and our community.

The people back then were not waiting around for some "leader" to save them. They got off their asses and pounded the pavement, protesting, marching, demanding justice and equal rights.

They were not sitting around waiting for Sammy Davis Jr or Butterfly McQueen to tell them to fight racism. They did this on their own.
