According to Variety Eddie Murphy has been cast as Richard Pryor's father, LeRoy “Buck Carter” Pryor, in the upcoming biopic starring Mike Epps.
Oprah Winfrey will play Richard Pryor's grandmother, Marie Carter, who raised Richard in her brothel where his mother worked as a prostitute.
The film is expected to be released in time for Oscar consideration.
Lee Daniels hinted at the collab with Eddie Murphy earlier this week on Instagram.
