Marvin Gaye III's lawyers tell TMZ Marvin registered a treatment for "a music based 'black' and 'hip' version of 'Dynasty' ... with a little 'Sopranos,'" and that Lee Daniels stole the concept for his hit show 'Empire.'
Gaye claims he pitched his show to execs all over Hollywood and specifically to associates of Lee Daniels.
As proof, Gaye points to Lee Daniels describing Empire in nearly identical terms in 2014.
Gaye is suing for unspecified damages.
