IF you thought Ed Sheeran’s Shape of You sounded like TLC’s No Scrubs you’re not alone.
The songwriters of TLC’s 1999 hit have just been added to the list of writers of Shape of You.
Sheeran has yet to comment on the similarities between the songs, or whether the credits have been added due to legal action or to front-foot potential legal action.
It means a financial bonus for No Scrubs’ writers Kevin ‘She’kspere’ Briggs, Kandi Burruss, Tameka ‘Tiny’ Cottle and the estate of the late Lisa ‘Left Eye’ Lopes, the only TLC member with a writing credit on the hit.
