Rihanna Causes SnapChat Stock Plunge

This week Rihanna slammed the SnapChat app after they promoted a game asking players if they'd rather 'slap Rihanna' or 'punch Chris Brown [click here if you missed that].

SnapChat pays dearly for their lapse in judgement...

As Rihanna's rebuttal went viral SnapChat stocks dropped 5% to their lowest level in a month.

The stock recovered slightly at closing at a 3.6% loss.

10:12 stfu we didnt do shit. That was a marvel movie that was gonna break the bank regardless especially with Infinity War coming out next month. That wasn't no win for us!!! How we won?? We stay cheering over hollow victories and these "victories" always seem to revolve around the entertainment industry....I guess it's gonna be a "victory" for us if Meek Mill get released early too huh

When we start winning in the areas of FINANCE, LEGAL, and MEDICAL, then lets cheer and lets cheer loud. As far as Rhi, she's showing her power just like Kendell Jenner no talent ass did a couple months or so back. It's called the power of the celebrity.

I’m going to rule in favor of 10:20!!!

You’re right ... black people love these little symbolic victories!!! One that comes to mind is when that mixed actress got engaged to Prince Harry and black people were like “we up in this bitch! We’ve arrived!” No, you’re not and no you haven’t. That shit overseas ain’t got nothing to do with you. Meanwhile, our schools are falling apart, our women keep bringing kids into fatherless situations and we can’t wait to give our money to other people who joke about us behind our back. It’s like we love little things that validate us into constantly being in a childlike state of no worries or responsibilities. It’s time for our people to wake the hell up, take charge of our families and make sure our food supply, money supply and water supply is on point. We will be the first to perish during a disaster cause we’ve depended on everyone else for so long!!

Rihana made a difference. Bet they'll think twice before releasing ads like that again. Thank you!

I'd rather slap the people who made the app. This is why people can't move on... always living in the past. SMH

Facts. Dr King before the last thing he said, when we come to washington again, we coming for our check. This was the last piece, black dollars when they told Rosa Parks to sit at the back of the bus and black folks collectively boycotted the bus company came to a halt. While I am happy for black panther breaking records, until that day when we realize we are the majority, not the minority as we are called and realize who are the true inhabitants of this land, the real natives indigenous and wake the fuck up, if we boycotted a single holiday, like that bullshit ass "thanksgiving" celebrating genocide shit would change, we have a long way to go, but we are going to get there make no mistake. This is why "they" are in a panic behind closed doors, make no mistake the principles of rhythm and cause and effect are always in full effect, and all are subject to it, I don't give a fuck who you are universal laws will triumph. With that being said, fuck lame ass snap chat Rihanna and Chris need to sue those bitches, they would not dare do that to yt celebrities, tired of these muthafukken companies who make millions off us disrespecting us. Just like those wypipo who sued that website gawker and put their asses out of business.

Why we gotta be hotep? Just because we don't get down with the foolery and can see through the bullshit? I got a T-Mobile iPhone, btw. It lets me use my phone when I travel overseas a few times a year.

10:20 Get's it. Everyone loves superhero movies and Marvel rarely loses.
White owned and operated Disney/Marvel will benefit, not us.

People dimb as hell if they think Black Panther shouldn't be praised. Stfu. That movie employed hella Black people. Put dark skinned blacks on and made people take notice. The kids have heroes to look up to and people who look like them, all through the movie. It made black kids feel good. It showed unity and power, in a world where we have none. And many other reasons that is too much to type. But those few reasons alone, are enough to be proud. So go sit y'all dumb asses in the corner, silently, and wait for permission to speak oe type. Bunch of dumb fucks!

Loving the comments in the begging with 10:20! Thank you! But what me say the same in public and get called hater, bitter, miserable, or uptight...

Black people these days are too caught up in symbolism but we still haven't progressed like we should of because our mindset lack appropiate prioritizing.

This is the best comment thread I have ever seen on this site. Great discussion. We have the power to elevate our own. We must use it. Together. Bottom line.

The main excuse for your level of ignorance is internalized inferiority. Your comment is full of contadictions and assertions disguised as facts. Black Panther, co-written and directed by a BLACk MAN is the highest-grossing film of 2018 WORLDWIDE, the seventh highest-grossing film ever in the United States and 17th highest-grossing film of all time. That's quite a bit more than breaking the bank. Making a movie involves many industries beyond entertainment. I suggest you educate yourself on the successful Black people in those industries.

So can one discern actual "black" liberation, and still enjoy and be happy for the success of Black Panther?
