Atlanta Season Three Will Focus on Women

Donald Glover's hit FX series Atlanta renewed for a third season and will focus on women...

Co-writer Stephen Glover tells The Hollywood Reporter,
"I think we have some cool ideas in season three that’ll put some more women on screen."
"There’s a very specific perspective from the Atlanta woman that I think we’re gonna explore in season three."

Hmmm. Then it won't be good, I didn't like any episode that starred his baby momma and this season wasn't as good as last season.

Atlanta women are so easy to please...and turn into codefendants. Thirst brings out the worst.

^^You win the internet today with "thirst brings out the worst"

This should be interesting to see. Married to a white woman but doing explicit sexual scenes with a sister. Must be awesome being executive producer, writer and other big hats. Way to exploit money from your own.

I guess since Issa Rae's Insecure got all that attention for claiming their next season will focus on Black masculinity, Atlanta wanted some attention too lol

I was very disappointed though not surprised that, now that Atlanta got White folks' attention, they don't talk to Black press anymore. Evidently before it started, Donald & his crew all talked to Black media but now that it's won awards, their white publicists dragged them off. From a Black Journalist on Twitter:

So I was at the @AtlantaFX Emmy FYC carpet in LA last week, very small, intimate carpet. Instantly I noticed something tho... All the black media was at the end of the carpet. and by ALL i mean literally THREE of us.

Who was at the beginning of the carpet? Entertainment Tonight, Extra, Variety, Hollywood Reporter, you know... THOSE types. Now, I'm thinking hey, @AtlantaFX is BLACK AF & this carpet is short, we're going to get to talk to all the stars, right? WRONG!

Because do you know what their VERY WHITE publicists did before the carpet started? They walked up and down that carpet turning their nose up at every black media outlet. Some not even speaking to black media at all.

They'd stop and chat with @Variety and @THR, share a few laughs, look up and see my black face and pretend I didn't exist. It was quite interesting.

Now I'm no guru but something tells me that @AtlantaFX's target audience are black millennials. Now black millennials on my TL, do you guys go to @Variety and @THR for your tea on ATLANTA? I can speak for myself when i say I DO NOT.

Black millenials, do you watch @extratv or @etnow for your tea on @AtlantaFX? I can speak for myself when i say, I DO NOT.

However, for some reason the WHITE AF publicists of @donaldglover Zazie Beets & @lakeithlakeith decided that black media wasn't worthy enough of speaking to their clients. Instead, after they spoke to white media, they rushed their clients off like the red carpet was on fire.

Now had this been the carpet for...idk... "Entourage" or some shit, okay, I get it. But @AtlantaFX? A show based in the BLACKEST city in America, geared towards BLACK millennials, with an all BLACK cast and they cant speak to BLACK MEDIA & our BLACK audience

Black people are literally the reason this show exists because I can guarantee you, the % of white people watching @AtlantaFX is low AF, but you mean to tell me that black media and our black audience isn't good enough to speak to?

And I don't put it entirely on the celebrity because @donaldglover really looked empathetic when he was being whisked away and @lakeithlakeith did as well. However they COULD have also told their PR to kiss their ass when they realized only black media was being neglected.

But now they gave white media with NO CAMERAS 10 minute interviews on the red carpet but the 3 BLACK media outlets on the carpet couldnt even get 2 minutes a piece. They love to use the hell out of black folks but give us nothing in return.

SO, 'INSECURE' will focus on BLACK TOXIC MASCULINITY next season and ATL will focus on women??
