Lauryn Hill Cancels Tour Dates

Last week the Miseducation of Lauryn Hill 20th anniversary tour kicked off to a bumpy start after Ms. Hill pulled her usual stunt of showing up hours late and singing unrecognizable versions of her hits [click here if you missed that].

Now the tour has been cut down drastically...

Dates in Charlotte and Raleigh, NC, St. Petersburg, Fl and Virginia Beach have been canceled.

Stops in Atlanta, Miami and Nashville have been postponed.

This evil bitch needs to permanently retire. You have many entertainers who show up and perform in the rain and cold weather. They even perform when only a few folks show up. So fuck Lauren and her shitty attitude.

Hold this L and keep it pushing. She is touring off an album that is 20 years old and people are paying to see it. That is some ultimate staying power and she can't even treat her fans with respect. She is canceled.

Good get lost, still riding off that tired ass album from 20 years ago, ain't did nothing else since then but disrespect your fans, while your peoples chat bout Ms. Hill. I will just play the CD every now and then for good time. I would never spend a dime to see this unprofessional, delusional ass trainwreck in person. Get Lost!!!

She doesn't own the rights to her music, that's why she's sings an almost unrecognizable version. I feel bad for her.

it is clear she has demonstrates signs of mental illness. The last thing she needs to do is be on tour. Given her history I'm suprised anyone would bond her shows let alone buy a tix to attend. I think she needs to practice some of that self love proclaimed in her music and get help. Being int he spotlight will only make it worse for her. Get help Ms. Hill.

@Kree

Thank you. It’s not rocket science. I’m not sure why no one else can figure it out.

She’ll be sued if she sings the songs from MOLH as it was recorded. Hence she speeds up the songs and changes the arrangements for copyright reasons.

The fact that shows are selling out in major cities to hear an album that is 2 decades old speaks volumes to the classic nature of the work. There is nothing tired about that album and she influenced a lot of the younger artists that came out after her through that album. They actually quote that album as a big inspiration in their respective careers.

She might not be managing her career well but do not knock her talent and what she has achieved in the past just because you are annoyed by her antics.

People might be more inclined to accept her 'reworked versions of her classic but there is no excuse for treating your fans to two - three hours of tardiness. I would say if you have time to spare / kill then go and see her but otherwise spend that money wisely.

Yeah. That whole thing about being sued isn't true. The venue has that covered.https://www.legalzoom.com/articles/royalties-for-cover-songs
