Mayor Evicts Jay Z's Made In America Music Fest

Yesterday a representative for the Mayor of Philadelphia announced this would be the last year for Jay Z's Made in America Music Festival on the Ben Franklin Parkway.

The gag is they announced the news to the media BEFORE bothering to tell Jay Z...

In an open letter Jay addresses the Mayor,
"We are disappointed that the Mayor of the City of Philadelphia would evict us from the heart of the city, through a media outlet, without a sit-down meeting, notice, dialogue or proper communication. It signifies zero appreciation for what Made In America has built alongside the phenomenal citizens of this city. In fact, this administration immediately greeted us with a legal letter trying to stop the 2018 event."
"We consider this stance a failure on the mayor’s part. Is this an accurate representation of how he and his administration treat partners that economically benefit his city? Do they regularly reject minority-owned businesses that want to continue to thrive and grow alongside his city’s people?"
"Since 2012, Made in America, one of the only minority-owned festivals, has had a positive $102.8 million economic impact to Philadelphia, and the festival has paid $3.4 million in rent to the city. Made in America employs more than 1,000 Philadelphians each day and 85 percent of our partners are Philadelphia-based companies."
"We have studies and reports that prove the festival significantly contributes to Philadelphia’s tourism bottom line. We cannot comment if the mayor has reviewed any of these materials."
"How does an administration merely discard an event that generates millions in income and employs the city’s people as if we are disposable now that we have served our purpose? The city is right in one respect; the first Made in America festival took place when there was a great need for tourism. By their admission, the festival first started as a “unique attraction to the city on an otherwise quiet Labor Day weekend. Over the years, tourism has grown overall."
"Our question is, “How do you think that tourism grew, Mayor Kenney?”
“We will discuss our options internally and handle accordingly.”

Mayor told you exactly how he felt about the festival. Jay told him how he felt. Time for words is over. Either carry on with the festival or move to another city with it.

Fulfilling that Roc nation slave contract is getting harder and harder. You got your wife out here with a babybump struggling to help you now this.... It's nothing else to believe in.

Take it to another inner city that can benefit from the proceeds. Trust me they're going to feel the impact, just don't go back when they ask you to.

That mayor sounds like a thirsty ass attention whoring stunt queen. Take your venue elsewhere, Philly is a depressing ass city anyway, city of brotherly love my ass. The only thing I like about that place is when my fellow sista witch comes to visit me in ATL and bring me a couple of those delicious ass philly cheese subs. That shit almost made me want to move to philly almost!!!

I don't know Jay from a can of paint, but from I've heard... the same way this Mayor handled him, is the same way Jay has also handled a lot of people since he's been in the business. Karma? Hmmm...

Everyone with common sense knew the mayor was going to backtrack.

This guy is having a damning year! And I'm sure he deserves it and more!

Lol the mayor's punk ass got a lot of calls from people who were making money because now it's, "a misunderstanding and they support and love working with Roc Nation". *rolls eyes* How was it a misunderstanding Sway?

So they Mayor changed his mind, let me tell you why.

It was dropped because Jay is known braggart of the criminal life style, and represents poor family values. The philly event always ushers in crime and the criminal elements of the city in one large public mass, its costly to manage and unsightly. So, good bye rapper event and ugly rapper see ya.

But the rapper event REALLY BELONGS TO OF BUNCH WHITE GUYS IN SUITS "LIVE NATION"

SHUTTING IT DOWN MESSES WITH THEIR MONEY .

LIVE NATION HAS BOARD MEMEMBERS WHOS WEALTH AND STATUS CAN SWING ELECTIONS .

Live Nation put the call in, and Mayor finds out real quick who is the main player behind the event.

JAY Z IS THE HELP, HE DANCES AND RAPS FOR US,

1st - jay DID NOT write this.
2nd - jay is just a secretary for LN. in the absence of the real deal makers, he ordered to attended meetings and take notes.
3rd - he WILL DEFINITELY rap about it. his image and feeling hurt. awwww

4th - no one checkin for jayke and the fat beMANsay. that one trick pony show has been tired for a VERY long time.

philly can do better.
