Nike Releases Colin Kaepernick Narrated Commercial

This week Nike announced that exiled NFL quarterback Colin Kaepernick would be the face of their campaign for the 30th anniversary of the Just Do It slogan [click here if you missed that].

Nike just released the first commercial....

The ad will air for the first time tonight during the first NFL game of the season.

Whether we agree or not, he has a right to his protest.
And those others have a right to burn their damn shoes up. Or to the vendors, that won't sell Nike's anymore. Everyone has their right. I'm truly proud of this guy. He is passionate about what he believes in and ultimately forfeited a shit load of money. If I were him, I wouldn't want to play again anyway. Some of those players would purposely fuck him off and hurt him. Well done Colin!

This ad was nothing short of beautiful.

And him getting an endorsement makes the police stop killing Blacks?

If your shoes are new or gently worn, please don't burn. I wear a 7 1/2 or 8 womens. Ship them right down to

Proud of you Colin!!

9:12 LMAO!! Truth be told, some of those NIKE's are uncomfortable as hell. Now, the NIKE Huaraches are like walking on air. Anyway, this ad was everything!!

Ummmmm---Just A Thought:

Wondering....If The People That Are Burning & Destroying Their Nike Apparel & Shoes.....Know That Nike Already Has Their $$$$$.....So They Are Not Hurting Nike OR Colin Kaepernick .....Only Themselves.

#Lol....You Can't Make This Sh*t Up!!!

What stance have you taken to even bring attention to the plight of Blacks being gunned down by the cops? NONE.

The commercial is awesome! The NFL and 45 have colluded against Kaep. Lucky for him they were stupid enough to do it in public. Yet he has persevered.

Jerry Jones must be losing his mind and hovered with his sycophant Dak Prescott, trying to figure out what to do. There is NO WHAT TOD DO. When the universe aligns itself for change, you’re either on the right side of history, or the wrong side.

And may I add, while these folks are burning and boycotting their Nike apparel, they should probably stop going to Chic-Fil-A as well, seeing as they are in the business of not backing marriage equality. Just sayin'.

But you know they won't, cause they feel they're right good Christians in doing so; and folks marrying as they see fit and having equal rights is a much bigger crime than police disproportionately and arbitrarily murdering black men in cold blood, right?

Do your thing, Kap. We stand with you.

Nice commercial, still won't get me to go out and buy nikes though *shrugs*. All the money nike made off the black community in the Jordan era, what has nike given back? now the new "black face" of nike has arrived for those black panther black dollars, and the sheeps are eating it up. My question just what will nike give back, other than some feel good commercials? social media has only highlighted what we have been going through, now what will the collective majority do, against? the continued terrorism of a white minority rule.

Will we rise up like the South Africans? *sips coffee*

9:40 what have u done or are doing to prevent a police to shoot you?

E-STROKES said...

First of all, your question is stupid. If a cop is going to shoot there is nothing YOU or anyone can do to prevent that act. But it does not mean that what ppl like Kaep are doing are empty gestures.

I work with families who have lost love ones to tragedy, including police brutality. I could go on about myself. Yet the question remains what the fuck are YOU doing.

So before you try and piss on Kaep accomplishments and mine. Stand up bitch!

STOP BEING SCARED and start being GRATEFUL that ppl like Kaep, make sacrifices.

Civil rights aren’t won in a day, by one person. They are won by millions of ppl making sacrifices, that may never see the victory come to fruition in their lifetimes. You selfish bitch. Ppl like you get on my nerves.

Very inspirational commercial, Good job Colin and Nike. I'm glad that Colin will stand for what he believes even though it has made him a pariah. History will be on his side, people will look back on what Colin did and see him as an inspirational person. Someone that sacrificed everything to bring attention to the plight of minorities in America.

Yes 10:58 you are so smart!! The amount of money Nike made off Blacks during the Jordan era could have opened a center in every Black neighborhood in America. Provide scholarships to Black american students. A plan of action by Nike to make things better for Blacks. You prefer a feel good message by nike to assuage your feelings of wanting civil rights in america. Blacks been fighting for a long time. Laws has been in place to fight racism but today's blacks don't even have the thought capacity to fight systemic racism. I don't see The Black Caucasus do anything and they are old heads. However, a commercial to make you feel good to tap into shopping for 200.00 sneakers is good for you, go for it.

Niggas irk my every nerve but this mofo and his Afro is sexy sexy sexy! Colin is fine as hell!

I am SMART Asshole. All messages to further the cause in a positive way are important. What messages are YOU SENDING? NONE.

Nike ain’t obligated to build centers and shit in our communities that’s OUR job. But lazy, trifling bitches like you Probably the same ones buying Jordans. I have NEVER owned a pair of Jordans.

They in business to sell shit. They still selling shit. Even with Kaepernick. But trifling strumpet bitches like YOU ain’t doing shit but bitching and minimizing somebody else who is trying in his own way.

Bitch BYE!!

Black people did not make Nike more money during Jordan's time. All races wear Nike clothes and their other lines. It extends further than the damn hood so stop with that delusional thinking.

6:42 Nike clinics, basketball, and football are located in white areas. That's giving back to the white communities but none in the black communities. I guess this is acceptable for you? Kap wants to get paid and wants a job. Whites are the one killing police but the police are killing blacks.

A half hybrid with a fake ass afro is good enough for some blacks and you.

@9:25 PM Nike doesn't owe the black community anything. It's a business like any other business with one thing in mind: To make money. Phil Knight didn't make those poor black parents buy $200 Jordan's. They should have gone to Walmart and bought an imitation Jordan or a no name brand pair of tennis shoes.

Why you hating on Kaep because he's getting paid? He's doing what most people do when they lose a job: Find another one. He donated one million dollars of his salary to multiple organizations for his cause.
If you care to see what organization(s) he donated to and how much, click the link or shut up.

I work in one of the roughest Black communities in Los Angeles and have yet to see Colin stroll his pro-black azz down there and help out. Oh, wait, Maxine Waters is supposed to be cleaning up the same neighborhood she's ran rough shot over for the past 300 years with little to no change.
You are surely blinded if you think these entertainers care about you... just throw the football. Oh wait, you can't... you're not signed anywhere, are you?

Carnage, genocide, hijacks, refugees, terror-attacks, ethnic conflicts are so normal these days that it would take another Bertolt Brecht, with his new age Alienation Effect to sensitize the world to the true depths of its evil. These are forms of violence inconceivable even for the most daring of the Modernist avant garde minds. Today we see art standing powerless and mute in the face of the gruesomeness of experience.
