Michelle Williams Leaves Broadway Play

Earlier this month Destiny's Child Michelle Williams announced she was no longer engaged to her fiancé Chad Johnson [click here if you missed that].

Now Michelle is leaving her role on Broadway...

From People Magazine
The singer, 38, will be taking a leave of absence from her role as the goddess Erzulie in the Broadway production of Once On This Island.
Williams only joined the cast two weeks ago but has been advised by her doctors to step away from the Tony Award-winning show beginning Wednesday, the show announced in a statement.
“Effective immediately, Michelle T. Williams has been advised by her doctors to take a leave of absence from performing,” the statement read.
A representative for Williams had no additional comment.

This would never happen to Beyoncé.

She seems sweet, but she damned sure doesn't belong on Broadway. I saw her in Fela, and she's just awkward. She clearly got the role based solely on her association with D.C. But still, breakups are rough, she probably wants to go into the new year with a clear head.

This girl is not fit to be in the public and on display. She's too fragile. She needs to take a long vacation, get quiet, find some balance and get a job working somewhere that'll keep your mind stable because the entertainment industry is based on popularity and that is something she has never been. Being the third wheel by default is never going to be easy.

How Michelle manage to stay in Destiny's Child? My daughter loves plays and know the whole Hamilton edition of songs, roles etc...I hope she gets better.

I saw Michelle in Aida 6 years ago on Broadway and she was good. I had seats close to the stage and when I say she was an emaciated skeleton it’s no exaggeration. She looked anorexic. I was waiting for a strong wind to blow her over. I don’t think you could really notice it unless you were close up because of the bright stage lighting but she looked like a size zero. I don’t really remember her performance except for her weight. Picture Whitney Houston when she performed at the Michael Jackson celebration in 2001. Bones.

@4:27 am I mean there was nothing memorable about it. She hit the notes and was on cue but didn’t move me. I don’t even remember what it was about.

I saw Michelle in the Color Purple, small theatre and we were up close - she is indeed a skeleton, she played Shug and when she was in that tub, I could see her whole skeletal system - she was pretty good on the stage...

poor girl though, she's obviously going through it and if she can stay in the house and lick her wounds, sometimes that's best also...hope lots of her people rally around her and fill her with love - then she can get to the hard work, why she liked that creepy guy and what she can do to not be desperate so she doesn't end up in that space again

i believe there's real men out there that will love her and help her with her mental issues.

Michelle what happen? Were you this much when you were with DC or did that young fellow do it? Whatever it is you need to leave it alone. If it is just your mental health; put you first!!!!!
Shade: Are you trying to rekindle the original DC4 because with all of this when they do go on tour you will NEED to sit out.
Seriously, I had to learn to place me first; you need to take care of you!!!!!!!!!!!!! If your happiness truly comes from above, throw yourself back in the church, surround yourself with REAL friends, stop looking for a man (LET ONE FIND YOU). Michelle it's clear that you are favored by God; out of all the women that could have been given the opportunity to be in an A list group; and believe me people tried; you need to believe in yourself; please work on you!!!!!
