Good for her. I know what we going through with the kneeling and what not and the police shooting us like dogs. But I'm grieving two family members in less than 6 months that have been gunned down by Black men. The most recent death occurred January 6, 2019 right after midnight. My little cousin who was 29 years old was taking cover charges and guarding the door at the club when another Black male who was 24 came and wrestled his own gun from him and shot him at point blank range. We burying him tomorrow. So I'm kind of tone deaf to this shit and Black Lives Matter is a joke.
Anybody on this thread has a higher probability of getting shot by one of our own than any body else. When Hillary Clinton made that comment about SOME young Black men being super predators and then turned around and apologized, shit she wasn't lying. They out here trying to make a quick come up by any means necessary. I'm sick of this shit.

RIP Kodjo Yabi..may you rest in eternal peace.

Shame on Gladys. She shouldn't let them use her like this. I guess it's okay with her as long as she gets to sing at the bowl. Pity, but I'll get over it.

Good for Gladys. This era of the outraged really needs to end. How does a person take issue with Gladys singing when 90% of the participants are Black. Has anyone demanded they not play?

Like most, I don't like how the NFL dealt with the Kapernick issue. However, Gladys has nothing to prove at this point. Somebody is going to sing. It's her home town. She can't say no and I'm not mad about this one. She's earned the right to stand or stand her singing ground. She's always been classy and I'm team Gladys.

Well, yall can't blame Gladys, shes gettin old and may not be keepin up with the going's on in the black community. I blame the people around her for not letting her know why she would not participate in any NFL activities.

I guess Gladys needs the check. I know she admitted to a bad gambling addiction sometime ago.

Gladys is from the old school - she knows what REAL CIVIL RIGHTS is all about and it's K. Just listen to MLK, if YOU don't know. Good for her!

@10:14 Sorry about your loss. In these times, giving someone who doesn't come off right the benefit of the doubt can mean compromising your livelihood. The problem with this is that everyone is vulnerable to some predator every time they leave their home, especially if they work with the public. Over the past few decades, communities have gotten weaker and the result are too many young people that are prone to violence, either as a victim or perpetrator.

How can football team stop the killing the black people by the police. This is a policy issue not a sports to get involve issue. Where is Kapernick now? He took the Nike money and doing what afterwards. We haven't heard from him, no interviews, no fighting in Washington, no black policing their own reform. He offered no solutions. What was his end game?

This is very shameful on the part of Gladys. For a mess of pottage she is ready to betray our trust.
