Taraji P. Henson Walks Back R. Kelly Support

Taraji P. Henson clarifies perceived support for R. Kelly...

There is a growing movement online using the hashtag #ThemFirst where anytime Black celebs are persecuted for something them-firsters counter with white celebs who got away with the same things or worse.

In a #ThemFirst argument gone wrong Taraji P. Henson shared a video on Instagram Live attempting to find a #MuteHarveyWeinstein hashtag matching the same energy of #MuteRKelly.

Two things: First the #MuteRKelly hashtag was crafted specifically for R. Kelly referencing his music career. Second: Harvey Weinstein is a bad example because there are several documentaries dedicated to his sexual misconduct, Weinstein lost his business, power and prestige and he's currently on trial for rape.

After Taraji was accused of trying to justifying R. Kelly's actions she clarified her stance on Twitter.

Why do folks keep stepping in this rabbit hole?? Stop comparing and admit WRONG IS WRONG. Karma is coming for all of us, some now some later. But she IS coming.

I never understood the reasonings of certain people, who make crime against others a race issue. Crime is crime and it does not matter who is committing it, you also never hear the stans of the perpetrator acknowledge the victims. Every single one will be held accountable for their crimes either on this side, or that side. A criminal is a damn criminal I don't give a fuck what their color is.

These celebs need to stop posting about these types of things on social media. With millions of followers, there is always going to be at least one person who's going to misconstrue what the celeb is trying to say.

Weinstein has an upcoming trial in May. Reading is fundamental.

Erykah Badu is also in Taraji's movie--yeah, we don't care about "What Men Want."
