Touré Addresses Sexual Harassment Accusations

This week pop culture critic Touré was accused of sexually harassing a make-up artist who exposed him after watching Touré speak about his participation in the Lifetime documentary 'Surviving R. Kelly [click here if you missed that].'

Touré addresses the allegations...

Touré tells Essence,
“On the show, our team, including myself, engaged in edgy, crass banter, that at the time I did not think was offensive for our tight-knit group. I am sorry for my language and for making her feel uncomfortable in any way. As a lead on the show, I should have refrained from this behavior. I have learned and grown from this experience.”

Well at least he didn't lie and deny. He was punished for it and seems to have learned to do better. If he's still in the acts they will let us know.

yeah he didn't lie, deny or mess with under age minors. Nevertheless, he is on various platforms blasting others and he's been just as raunchy and has been on his worst behavior as well. Only because the lady put him on blast is why he's making a public apology now. Otherwise, he would have still been going in on other folks while not acknowledging his own fuckery.

Like a fucking ADULT, he OWNED his bullshit!! I love it. I wish more people could do/say the same.

He fucked up, and owned up to his bad behavior... like a MAN.

The articles he used to write back in the the say were so cringeworthy. Like crass to the point where you think he was trying too hard.

^^Meh...he deflects by mentioning the "team" instead of just himself.

“On the show, our team, including myself.....

Meaning, ya'll dragging me but the "team" is guilty as well. Not very manly in my opinion. Actually sounds a little snitchish to me.

11:11 I do believe he is dry snitching.

"our team, including myself, engaged in edgy, crass banter,"..wow, what a real loser. Throw everybody else under the bus why don't you. Just say what you did...not what they did. Keep the focus on yourself.

He said "team"? Good! If he didn't mention that others were also fucking around, ya'll would complain about that too.

The point is he owned his shit, and pointed out others as well.

I see Toure's PR team is trying to scrub and clean his terrible behavior. He didn't own shit he threw his team under the bus. No, it wasn't me alone.

11:58 no the point is the young lady made the accusations against HIM, not the TEAM. It's cool he apologized, but he didn't take FULL ownership. It's like a like scolding a small child and then that child say's "well, everyone else was doing it." but hey, at the end of the day he acknowledged so hopefully he will do better.

12:12 PM and 12:14 PM

If the two of you believe that this type of behavior only happens one person at a time, you are both WRONG. Whole teams of people participate of look the other way, and enable.

He owned it, he also acknowledged the toxic environment that permitted him to feel comfortable enough to do this in the first place. I've worked in environments like this... a group/team talking shit, and everyone either joining in to fit in or avoiding them.

He isn't deflecting... he's owning it.
