Ball Brothers Cut Ties with Dad?

LA Lakers Lonzo Ball and his brothers LiAngelo and LaMelo appeared to cut ties with their father, Lavar Ball, in the wake of a Big Baller Brand scandal...

The move comes after family friend and Big Baller Brand co-founder Alan Foster was accused of stealing $1.5 million from the business in an investigative report by ESPN [Go here to read it]. Lonzo's father credits Alan with giving him the idea to reject endorsement deals from Nike and Addias to launch Big Baller Brand and market their own sneakers.

Days after the scandal broke Lonzo and his brothers all unfollowed Big Baller Brand on Instagram and Lonzo made a post with the slogan from Serena Williams' latest Nike campaign along with his jersey hanging in the rafters at the Staples Center. The post was captioned, "Moving on to bigger and better #MyOwnMan. Lonzo also changed his Twitter profile to a picture of himself wearing a Nike T-shirt as a baby

Adding fuel to the fire Lonzo's brother Melo Ball commented under the post, "love u brother thanks for getting us out my G 100."

As they should. I appreciate Mr. Balls involvement in his son's rearing. However, it got to a point where he was basically living his life vicariously thru this kids. Seems like it became all about "him." Maybe he should have just stayed in the back ground too. Then they have a shady character in the picture too? Ultimately, family and business can't really mix. Maybe for some, but for other's it's a real nightmare.

A little late for this. He already ruined the lives of the 2 younger ones. That youngest one doesn't even have a damned GED. Lonzo could have made money off an actual endorsement before people realized he was garbage, but his daddy talked him into selling orthopedic shoes, and packaging them as sneakers. Good luck to them. I'm sure I will see them as future Walmart greeters.

Good for them. The dad is probably worse behind closed doors. An egotistical tyrant who believes his own hype. This just gave them the juice to push on without his messy ass.

They probably get an allowance for their shoe deals.

At least now they can choose their own sponsors.
