Kanye West Contractually Forbidden From Retirement

Back in January Kanye West filed a lawsuit against EMI after they refused to sell him his publishing [click here if you missed that].

Now new details from the lawsuit show Yeezy is contractually obligated to make music for EMI for the rest of his life...

The Hollywood Reporter got their hands on the lawsuit and a portion of Kanye's recording contract with EMI reads,
“You (Mr. West) hereby represent and warrant that to [EMI] that You will, throughout the Term as extended by this Modification, remain actively involved in writing, recording and producing Compositions and Major Label Albums, as Your principle occupation. At no time during the Term will you seek to retire as a songwriter, recording artist or producer or take any extended hiatus during which you are not actively pursuing Your musical career in the same basic manner as You have pursued such career to date. (The preceding representation shall not be deemed to prevent You from taking a vacation of limited duration.)”
So when Kanye accused Black people of choosing to remain slaves for 400 years [click here if you missed that], he was talking about himself. Got it.

Modern day slavery. He didnt think the slaves faught enough 400 years ago to achieve freedom. Let's see if he has the fight in him to break this slave contract.

Did he sign this before or after he met Kris Jenner? I like to think she would never let him get into slavery agreement like this but WHO KNOWS. Maybe she was the one who set it up?! That's what he gets.

Wow, makes you wonder... I am sure Beyonce must have a contract like this. It really doesn't make sense that she's still out there shaking her ass still.

These artists who take the oath are all obligated to sign and perform for the rest of their lives. You literally become a product of the recording company. That's why see see people like Tina Turner coming out with a tour every couple of years, or Guns N Roses or Mick Jagger still touring. Only way out of that contract is death.

@1:32 Look Up The Bob Dylan Interview.

Hahahah!! Welp. He better go after those White folks that suckered his ass just like Kanye went after Blackfolks. Hahahah!!

That's why Prince was walking around with the word slave on his forehead. Good God, he can't even take an extended hiatus

!:52 PM Facts. They don't call it the fame monster for nothing. Keep your children away from the industry, where you are expected to be an industrious worker till death, once you sign that slave contract, you sell your soul for a happy meal.

1:32 PM Yes that interview was very telling. This is why they are all under mk ultra mind control and should you renege on your contract, well that hefty life insurance policy they took out on your head, will come in handy when you die by any means necessary. Those who try to get out of their contracts are outright murdered, the industry is nothing more that a giant human trafficking, prostitution, drugs, peodophile ring, run by various mafia cartels. These "entertainers" are nothing more than high paid slaves. Who are being held hostage not to mention the ones who do blood sacrifice of their relatives and friends, often regret their guilt however it's too late the deed is done. I don't envy them.

His "Choice" ; ).

Lies! Reading comprehension is fundamental. Keywords, "throughout the Term." No where does it state how long the "Term" is. It could be 1 year and it could be 20 years. We don't know.

@1:32 Rest assured under Mathew's management beyonce did not have a slave contract. Now under Jay's management that would make sense - beholden to him forever, no matter what he does.

Hilarious! Coo Coo for Cocoa Puffs!

"Term" How long is this "Term" how many years? Thats the keyword, term.

It sounds like they recording contract expects him to work exclusively in music for the time that he is in the contract. The question is how long is the contract for? When does it start and when does it end? So basically he can take a 1 or 2 week vacation or so but he can't be like "im taking a year off for me" basically a 9-5 where he gotta request vacation time. Ask yourself is it worth it working with these big ass labels?

Listen EMI owns Kanye Intellectual property until we live like the Jetsons in outer space. Maybe its just a "choice" kanye shrug

Kanye spends money like water. He took an advance. He can't retire until he pays that back. It's not slavery, it's business.

If that's the case, then his contract isn't so bad after all.
