The Real Reason Magic Johnson Quit the Lakers

Last month Magic Johnson shocked Lakers fans by abruptly quitting his job as president of operations [click here if you missed that].

Now we know why...

From The Daily Mail
Basketball legend Magic Johnson abruptly resigned as president of the Los Angeles Lakers' basketball operations earlier this month, and a new report reveals he quit after he was accidentally copied into emails blasting his poor performance.
Johnson was reportedly bcc'd in a chain of emails between Lakers co-owner Jeanie Buss and general manager Rob Pelinka who criticized his performance with the team.
The 'backstabbing' emails led Johnson, 59, to relinquish his post as one of the most powerful basketball executives in the world. He had taken charge of the franchise just over two years ago.
The revelations were unearthed on the Colin Cowherd show on Wednesday where Bleacher Report senior writer and Fox Sports 1 analyst Ric Burcher brought the emails to light.

I don't do sports so I could care less. Besides until nubians are the one's owning sports team, instead of the corpse colored troglodytes owning teams and making billions off nubians energy. I will not be interested which means I will probably be dead before that happens.

Backstabbing...that's what 'they' do! Magic got a taste of the typical work life of us regular folk.

It's best that he walked away then instead of giving them saltines the satisfaction of firing him, because it was coming.

Magic: Oh yeah? Fuck all y'all I don't need this shit. Deuces!
I would have done the same if I was worth $600 million.

he WAS doing a horrible job, so I guess his shady move was warranted...good on ya Magic...but you helped lead your team to crap this season!

Niyabinghi,
My thoughts exactly. No doubt the Lakers top brass had such a prestigious position earmarked for one of their grandkids. They don't want the likes of Magic at decision-making level only on the plantation/court toiling to make them more wealthy.

He should have went to Jeanie Buss and had a face-to-face conversation on the backstabbing. He couldn't/wouldn't tell her to her face and instead he announced it in a news conference.

I don't care how you add it up, it's shameful when a man (or woman) can't look a boss in the face and say "I quit."

if he was doing a shitty job... so what. And, they meant to add him to that email. It wasn't a slip up. Consider it a mercy kill. He left on his own, instead of them having to ask him to leave.

Brilliant.
