Lauren London Establishes Guardianship of Her Son

Actress Lauren London moves to establish legal guardianship of her son with the late rapper Nipsey Hussle...

From The Blast
According to documents obtained by The Blast, London filed to establish guardianship of her 2-year-old son, Kross Asghedom.
London writes that Kross is "anticipated to inherit approximately One Million Dollars at the close of" Nipsey Hussle's estate.
The actress writes that she is the person taking care of the minor child, and will look out for his "best interests" as he receives the lucrative inheritance from his deceased father.
She wants to be Kross' guardian so that she can participate in legal matters involving Nipsey's estate and probate, on the child's behalf.

Why should she have to establish guardianship of a child she gave birth to? Did she have custody of her son or did Nipsey?

His other BM a straight bum how she lose 2 baby fathers in the same manner yet that is not enough motivation to get her act together and get her kids not Ms London. No ma'am. You can tell Nipsey influenced Lauren she moves well.

I'm not a lawyer, I just play one on TV. But my theory is this disproves the theory that her and Nipsey were married because if they were, as his wife, she would be first in line to inherit his estate. But the fact that he probably didn't leave a will and definitely has kids by different women means the waters will get murky when it's time to determine his next of kin or the next heir in line. That's why she probably had to file for guardianship; to establish her son's rights to any money he would have coming to him from Nipsey's estate.

California laws are always a little different than other states, that's why you see separate paragraphs on contracts for California (Wisconsin also). Her establishing guardianship is not the same as her parental rights.

Insurance rep here: she has to establish guardianship because he is a minor. In court once we release funds for estates normally the court will appoint a neutral guardian in trust to manage the funds until the child is 18 (or the age designated by a preset trust in some cases). This person who then works with the parents to disburse funds for the child as the parent proves the expense exists. This protects the child's funds so the parent doesn't blow through the money on unrelated shit. She is making sure they don't do this and put her in charge of all of the money to manage as she sees fit.
