Chicago Moving Forward with Jussie Smollett Lawsuit

Back in April the City of Chicago filed a lawsuit against actor Jussie Smollett to recoup the $130,000 spent on the investigation of his alleged hate crime hoax, after the Cook County Prosecutor dropped all charges against him [click here if you missed that].

The City is being allowed to move forward with the case...

This week a judge denied Jussie's request to dismiss the case on the grounds that he could not have known how much it would cost to investigate.

A statement from Jussie's lawyer released to the media reads,
"Mr. Smollett has always maintained his innocence and is eager to have the complete facts of the case come out. He looks forward to taking depositions and otherwise bringing to light many of the facts that have been overlooked in the court of public opinion to date. Mr. Smollett is confident that once the full story is available, he will be vindicated.

Jussie! If you sound the alarms to the city that a crime has been committed and later they find there was no crime, you are responsible for all the manpower and cost.

The same day the Jussie story broke, a report came out about Chicago PD corruption, guess which story dominated the news.

That's nothing new in Chicago, they report on it all the time. That's why Juicy's story was on top.
