Nicki Minaj Refusing to Comply with Tracy Chapman Sampling Lawsuit

Last year Grammy Award winning singer / songwriter Tracy Chapman filed a copyright infringement lawsuit against rapper Nicki Minaj after Nicki used NY radio DJ Funk Master Flex to leak the song 'Sorry' ft Nas containing a sample from Chapman's 'Baby Can I Hold You Tonight' AFTER she denied Nicki's request for clearance to use her music [click here if you missed that].

Now Nicki is being accused of refusing to cooperate with the case...

According to reports Tracy Chapman's legal team has filed for an extension in the case after accusing Nicki of refusing to turn over text messages between herself and Funk Master Flex.

Nicki is requesting the case be thrown out on the grounds of Fair Use and claims Champman herself doesn't own the copyright to her music.

The case is ongoing.

Nicki's always the first to say put some respect on her name or demanding respect. However, once again she doesn't wanna do right by others and doesn't have any respect. Pay up Nicki!
