Loni Love Considers Adoption

Comedian Loni Love considers adopting a child...

In a recent segment on The Real Loni explained,
"You know what, there are 135,000 children that are adopted in the United States each year. For African-Americans children, they are overrepresented in the adoption pool. 24% of children, African Americans, are waiting for adoption. The population for African-Americans is only 13%. So, it's double."
"The thing about it for me is I would seriously have to think about it. One thing which might not be an issue for me, but it's expensive to adopt. It's very expensive. But also, more importantly, it's about my lifestyle. I travel a lot. I would need some help. But I am thinking about it.”
Loni also shared a viral video of an adoption on Instagram and said she was considering it.

Regarding that adoption video, I know these black kids need loving homes but I'm still leery of white folks adopting black children.
Good for Loni if that's what she wants to do.

I didn't know it was expensive to adopt. I knew a black woman, who worked as a temporary employee at my last job, and she was in the process of adopting a boy. The woman wasn't married, had temporary employment, was on government assistance, and had a child with a behavioral problem. I wonder if the adoption process varies in other states? Also, I have an older cousin who's in her 60s, that adopted 4 kids via Foster Care. I honestly didn't think it was too difficult to adopt a child. Especially if someone like Loni views the process as expensive and she's a millionaire!

It can be expensive when they want that typical healthy white baby. I know a lot of people adopt to get that government stipend.

The more particular you are, the more expensive the process is. These OLD arse celebs ALWAYS want a brand new- light/bright infant. Now if you want a dark, 13 year old & their siblings, you damn near can get them for free.

@ 10:38, if you foster a child first the adoption process is different. it's basically of no cost to you. once the child's parents have had their rights terminated then you as the foster parent will have first "rights" if you will and the state will cover the costs associated with adoption. the "downside" especially for people who want to choose babies of particular gender, ethnicity, and other things is that you basically get what you get. the child may be older, born addicted to drugs, or may have had to deal with a lot of issues with the birth parents. sometimes cps will remove newborns and place them, but these children are typically born drug addicted, so you will get a newborn but this isn't guaranteed as a foster parent. i hope that answers your question.

Yeah that's sweet the little boy now has a family but it would've been nice to see Black babies of any age getting adopted into Black families. I guess because her new man is White she chose to highlight this particular clip showing a White man being told by a Black boy how much he loves him. I wonder if she would've used the same clip if she was dating a brother?

And it's interesting to me because it's always White people that are represented in the media as if they're doing something heroic and new when it comes to adoption. But Black people adopt a lot of foster children and their own family members, to include cousins, nieces, nephews, etc who are abandoned by their parents or whose parents or incarcerated or on drugs. There are plenty of Black kids being taken in by their aunts, uncles, cousins, grandparents and other siblings but nobody ever really talks about this.

But love has no color so I should be excited to see this particular depiction, right? Child bye.

Handsome little Prince, very distinguished looking. Let's hope they do right by him. I will never be comfortable wyipo adopting our children, given their history on this planet.

WhenEva had a black person wanted to adopt??? NeVer! Loni just want something to control. This woman has a void that's needs to be fulfilled. The brainwash continues cause in order to adopt a child you have to love yourself. I don't get those vibes from her only the negativity she makes then contradicts it. They need to have some form of medical counseling to people who want to adopt. When Loni adopt, in a year she is going to be this expert with being a parent. Watch!!!!!!

More black people need to adopt black babies, African babies, and babies from the Caribbean. I ALWAYS see white folks trolling Africa and the West Indies for black children and only GODDESS KNOWS what the fuck they're pulling those precious black children into. Most white men are sexual deviants and huge freaks!

One of my best friends who is black was adopted by a white family and childddddd...she loves them but they FAILED in teaching her pride in her ethnicity. She went to Africa and came back not trusting white folks anymore. I love her but she is messed up from living and being raised in a small white town around them energy vampires!
