Saul Williams Corrects Jay Z

Activist and slam poet Saul Williams publicly addresses Jay Z after correcting his stance than only rich people can help poor people...

It all started a couple of days ago after Saul shared a video captioned 'Correction' where he uses Jay Z's quote about not being able to effect social change if you are poor.

I wouldn't characterize our fight for economic freedom as "new". There have been wealthy black Americans in every generation since the 1600's, and in Africa since forever. During segregation accumulated black wealth and black-owned business were at a peak. Black newspapers, magazines, schools, record labels... Yet psychological freedom from hard taught capitalism is hard to earn. African billionaires, for example, have brought little relief to the continent of Africa. The seduction of power and the systemic constraints of white supremacy will take more than money to burn. The root of the market economy is still almost entirely based on the sourcing of rare minerals where the exploitation of African miners and land is the analogue reality of the our modern-age technological advances. Thus, we push for essentially socialist measures which provide healthcare and education to all. Money can be disappeared, but the lessons you learn along the way are yours to keep. Whether we learn from the streets, schools, in prisons, or by playing the game, it is that hard-earned knowledge that allows us to understand how to spend what we earn in ways that can truly make a difference. Even as we push against the systemic structures in criminal justice, housing, etc. we know that it is not simply a question of money being used against us rather it is the ideology that negates our worth as human beings that seems to justify the constant exploitation of our worth and work. Thus the attack is largely against belief systems, philosophies empowered by money and a corrupted rule of law. Guggenheims, Rockefellers, Fords, Nobels, and the great philanthropists and supporters of the arts are all in recompense of the oil, the factory work, the mining, the weaponry, the staple crops, the plantations... that profit off the design of the system, after which the charitable hand is the only one left to give. I challenge the messaging through music when I feel it supports the system primarily because I see art and music as tools or weaponry that can be used to destroy it. The truth bangs harder. We learn that the more we tell it.

NOthing in Mr. Williams comments were judgmental. JayZ needs to take his no good, cut throat ass on somewhere. If he could and for the right price, Jay would throw Jesus Christ under the bus and then pull forward and roll right over him. Jay is a very slimy, grimy individual... Bey should be very careful and keep weekly audits on her money as well. He's no good and only out for self.

As a product of his environment (which isn't an excuse but a fact) Jay sold drugs to the people in his community and used that money to establish and grow his rap career. He used the money from that rap career to become an influential voice in the hip-hop community, eventually garnering favor and rubbing shoulders with the who's who of entertainment. With his millions (and supposed billions if you're a believer) he used his new wealth to open a few nightclubs, sell liquor, invest in sports management, start a music streaming company, buy an island (allegedly), align himself with the NFL, etc, etc, etc.

What he didn't do with that money, however, was use it to build a school in his old neighborhood, start outreach programs in impoverished inner cities to teach financial literacy or personal finance, build homes for the working poor and/or homeless women and their children, create an initiative to help students understand the pitfalls of selling or using drugs, build shelters for recovering addicts or anything that wasn't a direct, money making benefit to him and his Yaki loving wife.

So to Jay Z I say take this pocket full of Fuck You and beat it. Just beat it.

What Saul said. Fuck these sellout gatekeepers and pretenders. Industry kneegrows do their corporate masters biddings, they will not be part of this revolution. They have long sold themselves for their 30 pieces of silver, and whatever crumbs they get. Ms mac cosign.

Jay Z needs to disappear and go get an education. He is not equipped to be a leader. He is NOT a leader. He is a shark and snake that did underhanded dealings and sold out to be rich and powerful. How is this anything to be admired? If I gave up all morals and empathy I'd be a millionare too!

I wonder how long it took Jay Z to write that response? He is all smoke and mirrors. He speaks like he knows what's going on but his words are a facade, there's no substance or facts to back up what he says. Where did he get this notion that he's involved in something new because he's Jay Z? What an idiot.

Let's be honest here, Saul is a very intelligent man who exhibits the ability to present very thought provoking arguments. Jay on the other hand, appears as if he barely has a 4th grade education and can barely string along a coherent sentence. His response to Saul is not only embarrassing but laughable. If anyone didn't know Jay was faking it to make it, they know now. He has nothing to stand on except for an appearance of wealth. Nothing else.

@12:37 WELL SAID BRAVO....

The final sentence of Saul Williams response "TRUTH BANGS HARDER...We learn that the more we tell
it..."

Jay Z is the father of all lies...Saul KNEW THIS THATS WHY HE MADE THAT COMMENT....

Anyone remember when it hit the National Press during Jay Zs deal with the NFL that he was buying a NFL team.....and he was going to offer Colin Deal....

The VERY NEXT DAY...The NFL said NO.... they said is was 100% untrue and put egg on Jay Zs face.

Still up to his old tricks, leaking ridiculous claims of owning islands and 24k Gold Toilets and Taking Bubble Baths in Platinum tubs full of imported Champange...

Funny thing is Black People buy it every single time. Because we want to see one of own who can live the Robin Leech life Style and rub elbows with the rich and powerful. We live vicariously through him and his wife. Jay knows this and uses this desire like a vulture, like an Blood Thirsty African Heyena to eat our babies and ravage out culture...

Makes ya wanna Holla...I will say this, when his Masters have no more use for him...It will be Brutal....

1:22 I do not think him and his wife masters will come collecting as they are lifers. Jay Z and Beyonce will take it all to their grave before they go down like Mike, Prince and Whitney etc.
