Oprah Drops Out of Russell Simmons Documentary

Last month Oprah Winfrey caused a firestorm after it was announced that she was executive producing a documentary about women who have accused Russell Simmons of sexual assault [click here if you missed that].

Now Oprah is stepping away from the project...

In a statement to The Wrap Oprah explains,
“I have decided that I will no longer be executive producer on ‘The Untitled Kirby Dick and Amy Ziering Documentary’ and it will not air on Apple TV+.”
“First and foremost, I want it to be known that I unequivocally believe and support the women. Their stories deserve to be told and heard. In my opinion, there is more work to be done on the film to illuminate the full scope of what the victims endured and it has become clear that the filmmakers and I are not aligned in that creative vision."
“Kirby Dick and Amy Ziering are talented filmmakers. I have great respect for their mission but given the filmmakers’ desire to premiere the film at the Sundance Film Festival before I believe it is complete, I feel it’s best to step aside. I will be working with Time’s Up to support the victims and those impacted by abuse and sexual harassment.”

Black women and children are always placed in the sacrificial seat.

Oh, her hands will be in it from behind the scenes. From the gate, she shouldn't involved herself anyway. Oprah is not to be trusted.

Liz and The Firm done told her to leave that sh*t alone, now that Andrew's getting outed on being a pedo too. Told her to back off if she wants access to Meghan & Harry, or else.

Don't f with them royals. I don't care how much money you think you got, the mf's on a whole other tip from centuries and tied up/in with some different entities altogether.

The work (film) is still getting done with the intent for it to be publicly viewed. That's all that really matters with this situation for now. The alleged victims deserve to be heard if they have the courage to tell their stories. I just hope they're telling the truth. Only denial should be expected coming from him, so there is no reason to listen to him alone. He certainly isn't going to tell on himself.

Okra know what time it is. Somebody was about to pull them receipts and she thought better than to put herself in the line of fire. She got away with it once with the MJ accuser interview and has learned her lesson. She who lives in glass houses is now more careful about where she throws her stones.

What's done is done Oprah. You can't throw the rock and hide your hand. We already see you for who and what you are and we know there are more shenanigans up your gatekeeper sleeve.

It's all a part of the agenda to eradicate any "once positive" black male role models and fuel the black woman's hatred of the black man, etc. Some of these men are guilty but trust, many are not! I heard MLK Birthday song on the radio this morning and started to cry because black people have fallen so far away from the strong, great, respectful, spiritual people they once were! Pay attention people - come together - stop hating and trying to destroy one another. Shalom
