R. Kelly's Original Sex Tape Victim Files for Bankruptcy

Back in 2008 R&B singer R. Kelly was found not guilty on child pornography charges after the alleged victim refused to testify [click here if you missed that].

In an interesting turn of events, apparently the original victim filed for bankruptcy shortly after R. Kelly was arrested on new child pornography charges last year...

From The Blast
R. Kelly’s original alleged underage sex tape victim filed for bankruptcy months after the singer was locked up on new charges.
According to court documents obtained by The Blast, Kelly’s victim, who we will not be identifying by name, filed for Chapter 7 bankruptcy after experiencing recent financial problems.
The victim who was at the center of Kelly’s 2002 criminal investigation was the underage girl featured on the infamous sex tape. A couple of years after the tape was allegedly filmed, police started investigating the singer after being sent a copy of the tape. He would be indicted on 21 counts of child pornography, but the alleged victim refused to talk to law enforcement and went silent....
On July 12, 2019, Kelly was arrested on federal charges relating to child pornography and kidnapping. The victim’s bankruptcy was filed on October 22, 2019 in Illinois federal court.
Based on the timeline; the now 35-year-old victim started having financial issues immediately after Kelly got locked up.

Shame if she would have testified she could have saved so many future victims.

@9:42 True, but according to alot of these people, they're not "victims"....

Her previous pay off obviously wasnt enough to sustain her forever. This write up sounds like they are insuating that R Kelly was still paying her.

@9:56 She was 14 or 15 at the time, she has no choice but to be considered a victim.

@9:42 Absolutely, but this article makes it seem like he was paying her off for the last 20+, and possibly she was solely financially dependent that dirty money.
Also, I have absolutely NO confidence in the justice system 20 years ago to care about a young black girl being sexually abused. Black women were (and still are) missing and being murdered and I remember CNN having 24/7 coverage of Natalle Holloway for MONTHS and I think even over a year.

R. Kelly was paying this girl AND her family to stay quiet. Now that he's in jail, he can no longer pay them. Wonder if they'll talk now that the money has dried up.

Money is addictive to most. If payouts is the case which Im sure it was based on Kelly's history. The unknown will be willing to speak if the right outlet pays her enough.

It's a well known fact that this girl and her family were receiving regular payouts as long as they stayed quiet. There's a whole video about it on Youtube with receipts. So yeah, shit was all good until he got locked up and the money stopped flowing.
