Celebrities Speak Out As the Nation Erupts

Over the weekend nationwide peaceful protests over the murder of George Floyd by Minnesota Police officer Derek Chauvin erupted into violence, looting and mayhem after the District Attorney returned with a charge of third-degree murder and manslaughter, despite widespread video of Chauvin kneeling on Floyd's neck for 9 minutes while he repeatedly said he could not breath and called out for his dead mother.

Some of your faves speak out about the civil unrest...

For the last few days, the magnitude of devastation, anger, sadness I’ve felt has been overwhelming to say the least! Watching my people get murdered and lynched day after day pushed me to a heavy place in my heart! To the point of staying away from socials, just to avoid hearing the blood curdling agony in George Floyd’s voice again, begging over and over for his life!!! The look of enticement, the pure joy and climax on the face of this bigot, murderer, thug, pig, bum, Derek Chauvin, haunts me!! I can’t shake this! I can’t get over an ambulance pulling up to an arrest, a paramedic checking a pulse without removing the very thing that’s hindering it! Is this that fucking normal??? If intentional MURDER is the fit consequence for “drugs” or “resisting arrest”....then what’s the fit consequence for MURDER???! #GeorgeFloyd #AhmaudArbery #BreonnaTaylor

Leslie and Jamie Foxx have the right idea: VOTE, VOTE, VOTE!

Protests do not change the system. All it takes is one emotional idiot to turn a peaceful protest into a violent riot. Black neighborhoods across the country still haven't recovered from the riots in the 60s onward. That's why our neighborhoods are fucked up and in disarray, it stems from emotional blacks fucking up their own neighborhoods and looting from their own black businesses.

The best way we can achieve justice is through logic, strategies, and political clout which involves MONEY.

Jesmit said...

@5:39, I see your point and agree but how long will we continue to protest peacefully without being heard? Are we animals that other races do not respect our existence that they treat us us anyhow. Joe Biden said if we are deciding on whom to vote for, we ain't black. So whom do we vote for when we are disregarded at every turn? As for Trump, words fail me.

You really need to stop being so hard pressed as to which celebrity is doing what. Worry about yourself, are YOU marching, are you on the front lines?
I don't why some of you people think celebrities owe you shit.

Protests will never be the solution because they are too volatile, unstable, and unpredictable. There's no such thing as a *peaceful protest* because you can never control the element of people who will join or disturb your cause. Like I said, it only takes 1 emotionally, unstable, unhinged, idiot to disrupt the *peaceful protest*, and then it's only a matter of time before it snowballs into a *violent riot*. That's why the best course of action is to meet privately in your communties and rationalize a strategy. Hell, with us all working remotely it should be easier than ever to connect with black people all over the country. Set up Zoom meetings or something through IG, TEAMS, etc and have an open forum with other blacks. Devise a plan to create lobbyist in Washington. Learn how to raise money to protect your interests and the interests of your community.

The problem with black people is that they want immediate gratification. Everything with us is so emotionally ingrained that it's almost nonsensical and not based in reality. We don't want to invest time or resources into anything and it shows by what our people value: small time hustles and quick come-upperance. We don't have a culture that respects hard work and investments. That's why we have so many drug dealers and bootleg hustle men; they don't respect the long-term grind of hard work and building something from nothing. We're too stuck in this infantile mentality where we whine, cry, and beg for respect and protection. Leaders and respectable ppl know better and do better...black ppl don't.

There is a permanent solution to the killings of black men and the OPPRESSION of black people as a whole, but the problem is that black people do not want the solution. Yep! unfortunately you negroes LOVE YOUR OPPRESSORS

Every method you try that falls outside of the instructions that were given by The Most High WILL FAIL….and has been failing over and Over and OVER again non-stop

Black people have been getting killed since BEFORE Emmitt Till, but yet and still you continue to put your hopes and your money to support the children of Satan ( WHITE PEOPLE)

Voting will never work
Marching (peacefully) will never work
Marching (violently) will never work
Speeches will never work
Press Conferences will never work
Celebrities will never work
VooDoo/Pan-Africanism will never work
COONING will never work and
Sunday church damn sure aint gonna work

You know why?
Because that aint what The Most High told you negroes to do
hey!….but a hard-head makes a soft azz

I told y’all from the beginning of this year 2020 that this is the year of DEATH because The Most High sees that you negroes don’t want to follow His instructions, so guess then?…

Keep dying.

_________
Some of us in the A spend our money with black owned businesses like soul food restaurants, black dentistry's, black doctor offices, black beauty supplies, black boutiques, black mom and pop stores etc.... Those black people never left their communities and a lot of blacks supported them but in the last few days black people and other races that are pretending to be for the cause looted, vandalized and burned them down.

Fuck them. Be the change you want to see and stop waiting for celebrities to be that change.

Yes, I'm That Leah said...

Black people need to start keeping the Sabbath. Period. Stay out of these swine eating, Trinity lie, satanic, Sunday Keeping churches. Praise Yah.

Black people need to start networking and gifting money to one another again. If one black person becomes successful, they should give another black person a hand up to go to college or start a business. We need to start community giving and mentoring. If you're mentored well, you actually don't need to go to college...

We need to stop entertaining stupid stuff. This current music and these television shows are designed to make and keep people brain dead. All of America needs to demand that these reality shows disappear, and demand quality, family friendly scripted television shows... get our heads out of the gutter. Stop giving celebrities that hate you a platform.

I live in Atlanta, Georgia. Fulton County. Can't stand Mayor Keisha Lance Bottoms. I was at a community meeting about a year ago with her. She couldn't care less about filling these pot holes, crime, and gentrification. In fact, I know I'm right. She was on television urging Atlantans to go home and stop protesting - she said it was for our safety... but no. There wasn't a sincere caring bone in her body. She was MAD. Keisha just doesn't want that film and television money to stop coming here. She doesn't want her elite buddies to be offended. She wants to keep dancing with Ciara in the Dose video. Plus, she still obviously wants to be Vice- President. I hate living in this arm pit of a city....

Nothing is going to change until we get start shutting these cities down economically. Sustained boycotts.

I also think every rookie cop needs to be shadowed by a seasoned veteran cop with a good record for 2 years. Let's call some of these seasoned officers to come out of retirement and do some on the job training. It's pure psychology. A lot of these rookies become officers because they were bullied in school and abused as kids. Some rookies are racist. They are poison. Let's face it. You can vet them all you want, but the truth comes out when they are unleashed on to our streets. I think some rookie mistakes can be corrected with shadowing. Teach them to use their brain - follow the rules, and and not go off on emotion/be scaredy cats. They wanna hit women they arrest the way they beat their wives at home? ... no. If they are shadowed, that kind of stuff can be documented and they can be removed. Nip it in the bud! That code of silence they have needs to be finished. The APD and other police departments are one big gang. They forgot that they work for US.

I have read the comments and you all have some valid points. I believe voting is a step in the right direction. We are not crazy about Biden, but he is a better option than Trump. You can not afford, not voting because you don't like either candidate.

There is a code blue that cops honor for one another. That will be hard to break. Its ingrained into the system. To break it they will have to start arresting cops that violate the laws. I don't know if it works for the black policemen. When was the last time we heard of a black cop murdering a YT person?

When our mayor in NY first got into office he blasted the NYPD for injustice towards minority's. Cops protested. They slowed down answering 911 calls. They hated him (mayor has a black children) and he ended up back tracking his words to get them back to work. To this day he's still careful on how he addresses the issue of police brutally. We have a very racist union president for the NYPD. He fuels all kinds of political slander to aid the police. He's one of the reason Eric Garners case was miss handled.

MLK was successful at that time because he was organized, the marches were peaceful, protesters allowed the cops to beat them without resisting arrest which made good press filming/sympathy to rest of the world, other religious leaders from different faiths were involved and that pressured the president to respond.

Now we are back to the same old problem of police brutality. What do we do that's different is the question. We are tired of repeating the same thing over again. That's called insanity. We cant change racist ppl. We have laws to protect us but the enforcers of these laws are the ones abusing them.

First we need some real honorable leaders with knowledge of how the system works. I know blacks don't trust Sharpton but he is knowledgeable. We just dont want him on the front lines as the face for new leadership. Celebrities still working cant be used because they will loose favor of YT ppl and get black balled from their careers. We have seen how that works with Colin Kaepernick.

Its possible he would be a great candidate for new leadership group. We need several trusted ppl that can lead and knows the system. Where's the NAACP?

I dont have the answers but robbing stores and marching is not going to do the job. Someone said in above post, we need to organize.

VOTING IS NOT THE ANSWER NOR THE SOLUTION....YOU BEEN DOING THAT SINCE BEFORE EMMITT TILL AND STILL BLACK PEOPLE ARE GETTING SHOT DOWN...AND IT'S GETTING DONE BOLDY AND IN YOUR FACE!

The ONLY way black are gonna come together and organize is AFTER they REPENT....any other way outside of that WILL NEVER WORK because God is gonna make sure it don't work!

Yall stiff-neck,hard-headed black people yall gonna learn the hard way

Unknown said...

@3:18

You are absolutely correct.

In order to establish "leaders" we need to connect and unify with professional blacks locally. That means breaking the socioeconomical barrier that exists between "poor" blacks and the "educated/upper/lower middle-class" blacks. Right now black people are not only segregated by race, but we are also segregated by class. Therefore, we lack the diversity of minds, culture, and class to form and unify as a group. Once we can establish "groups" in every black neighborhood we can connect those individual groups within each city and state. Once unified, we can have these important questions asked and answered on a national platform that only includes other blacks. We can lessen the background noises and infiltration that tends to come with discussions on black issues.

And money! Money, money, money, money! Money, makes the world go round. We cannot see or mobilize action without money and political clout. That is all politics and racism understands: money. We have to start trusting each other, monetizing each other by investing in each other's business, volunteering to help get our people educated and into career building fields. We have to invest in our youth by creating social programs directed at their future. We also have to utilize new college graduate students. Our people are the most educated of all racial groups yet we struggle the most with student debt and our ability to secure a job after college. So, we should look at the percentages of black college graduates. Look at how many of our ppl graduated and in what field. See if those students were able to find jobs, and if not, let's see what black businesses could use their education/training/background. Or, let's look at black startup companies. What are the main qualifications needed for most of our start-ups? Maybe we could setup scholarships that are specific to our black businesses needs.

But again, this all starts with us VOTING, and then UNIFYING locally, irrespective of culture and socioeconomical standing. Which means we have to remove our own prejudicial biases against each other (bougie vs the le ghetto), and stop seeing each other as enemies. Black women, when you see another sista on the job or struggling, smile and say hello...offer help...a open ear.. try to treat each other like blood relative family. We may not always get along lol but we are literally all we have and we're dying. Now is the time to unify and support each other...
