I have never understood the hype with this show....

I like the idea, but, the execution (the acting, script etc) leave a lot to be desired.

I never liked Issa Rae nor her show white folks hyped her non acting ass up. Good Riddance! She tried it and most black folks rejected her.

Was into it for the first two seasons but it's always the same outcome when the cast gets a little shine and the budget grows. They start to believe their own hype, the story line becomes trite and the characters are no longer relatable. Probably best to bow out gracefully now since it was slowly morphing into soft core porn anyway.

If you were up on Awkward Black Girl, her internet series years prior to Insecure, you would understand the hype. She had fans before the show.

Oh well. People can watch the reruns on Porn Hub. I like seeing dark skinned Black women leads but Issa is an exception. She is annoying and makes my ass itch. She embodies everything wrong with this new wave Black feminism.

I just want to thank yall for not making me feel like an ass cause I don't get the hype and I think she full of shit for some reason.

@12:49PM, Yes, ABG was the shit, never missed an episode, which is why I was excited to see what she would do with Insecure. But the first time they showed a scene of her waking up with a face full of makeup and her hair laying perfectly coiffed under her head scarf without a single strand out of place I knew the entire essence of ABG was gone. That's when she turned Hollywood.

1:41 I agree. if my friends treated me or behaved in that manner, we would not be friends. I tried hard to like her, but something sincere is missing,
