This week comedian Bill Cosby was released from prison after serving three years of a ten year sentence after his conviction for sexual assault was overturned [click
here if you missed that].
After Cosby's former TV wife Phylicia Rashad Tweeted her gratitude for his release, she was forced to clarify after receiving backlash...

I support Phylicia.
Phylicia has stood her ground from the beginning, in her support for Cosby. None of this should have played out on social media. The laws need amended to block lawyers and victims from making public statements online and in the media. It's biased and prejudicial to any potential judges or juries. Besides, none of us are presented with the facts, we're only given emotional cue cards about the victims. It is woefully prejudicial and Cosby may never regain his prior reputation because of these lies smh.
Professor Rashad.. Howard University finest..
I see they put a statement out almost as fast as she retracted that statement. Students already speaking out saying how can they feel comfortable coming to her as a leader when she has this thought pattern.
So, no one has the right to support those they love? I thought when you loved someone you defend and stand with them through hell and high water? Who says everyone has to believe public opinion? It's dangerous to let Twitter strangers and the media tell you how to love or despise your own friends and family. You aren't a real friend if the world can turn you on someone you once claimed to love. Ms. Rashad is being a REAL friend, not a phony. That's her right.

Pay attention gullible folks who think this is about justice...In 1993, Bill attempted to buy a floundering NBC but he refused to pay G.E. aka General Electric, who were the owners, the price they asked. He returned in 2011 and asked G.E. again to purchase it and this time they said no, but sold controlling interests to Comcast, and in 2013, Comcast bought the remaining controlling interests. Next thing you know, Bill's destroyed. Why wouldn't they sell controlling interests to Bill in 2013? Things that make you go hmmm.
@9:27, You are calling Black women garden tools and Black men N words but "they" are low vibrational??? You are ignorant as hell. Learn the art of debate and argument because yours is lacking substance. We can't recieve your perspective because it's laced in filth. Try again darling.
@9:41
Do you have any proof? Someone said that Bill attempting to buy NBC was a hoax. Although, I do believe there was a concentrated effort to humiliate and embarrass him on a national stage. I just don't know if I believe that it was because he wanted to buy NBC...
Just like someone once said the demise of Irv Gotti was because he attempted to create his own distribution company instead of relying on the Jews. And it was also speculated that he was trying to get a group of black ppl to help fund it as owners. And then the next thing you know Irv is being investigated and indicted...sources say Jay got wind of what Irv was attempting and snitched on him to the Jews...which was around the time he toon over Def Jam and was allegedly making moves as a NBA team owner...I say that to say, it's not totally unbelievable that yts/Jews/Asians wanted to keep another nigga in his place.
@9:39, His wife and kids can't speak out because they will be subject to multiple frivolous lawsuits. It's kind of like the Sabrina chic suing T.I saying he defamed her character. Lol. When you have money it is best to be quiet or you will waste a lot of it fighting lawsuits. So, Ms. Rashad can speak because she is in a safer position.
^* 9:27 AM whatever reason he got out, I'M GLAD HE'S OUT !! #TEAMBILLCOSBY i see MASSA has done a GREAT job in indoctrinating you SLAVE N!GGAS to be the PROVERBIAL CRAB(S) IN A BUCKET...Phylicia didn't have to explain/qualify SH!T !! but i get why she did...if you MORONS knew how the entertainment industry REALLY OPERATES, you'd keep your ignorant, basic mouth(s) SHUT with all these 9 to 5 perspectives you spout off !! DUMBASSES and the CHAUVIN reference is [a] FALSE EQUIVALENCE...stay woke (?), BWAHH HAA HAA...how about YOU WAKE THE F*CK UP !!
Yeah I'm riding with Phylicia on this. Howard University has many dean's on campus if they don't feel comfortable going to Phylicia. Besides, Phylicia has maintained her position of support for Bill. Clearly the alumni didn't take issue with it otherwise they wouldn't have hired her. I respect her stance.
@9:47, Yes, there is proof, the newspapers are all electronically preserved online from that year! Put in your browser 1993 Bill Cosby attempts to buy NBC from General Electric, and tons of old papers will apear discussing the entire deal... L.A. Times, Vanity Fair, and every major and minor paper discussed it. Then speed up and put in 2011, 2013, and 2015 that discusses him coming back to the table again and losing out to Comcast. These are all reputable newspapers. It's a good read.

It is a good read, heres some of what I read, thanks 😉
"When Bill Cosby was convicted of multiple counts of sexual assault, an entire online campaign arose, in response, that claimed that this was the culmination of a decades-long takedown of the now-disgraced comedian, who -- at one point -- was allegedly scheduled to buy NBC.
The origins of this bogus claim stemmed from an article in the New York Times that was published on October 29, 1992. The article had a sensational headline that read "THE MEDIA BUSINESS; Bill Cosby Trying to Buy NBC From G.E."
But a closer look at the article reveals that this "explosive big claim" was little more than an unsubstantiated rumor, and one that was not likely true.
Norman Brokaw, the late agent for Bill Cosby, was the one who "confirmed" the details to the paper, claiming that Cosby was planning to make an offer to G.E. to purchase NBC.
But while Cosby's net worth was a respectable $300 million, NBC's asking price was $4 billion.
So, to circumvent this problem, according to Vanity Fair, Cosby was willing to enter into what's called an equity deal for NBC. In a nutshell, Cosby teamed up with Robert "Bobby" Wussler, who has previously served as president of CBS Sports, to offer a deal to NBC with the backing of Goldman Sachs to Brandon Tartikoff, who was the then-president of the network.
There's one very important element of this deal, however: Cosby himself would not be investing any of his own money in it.
What's more, Tartikoff declined the offer not once, but twice.
Finally, according to some rumors on the internet, the reason Bill Cosby wasn't "allowed" to buy NBC is that "black men aren't allowed to own television networks." That, however, is immediately debunked by the fact that media mogul Byron Allen -- owner of Entertainment Studios -- successfully made a deal to purchase The Weather Channel from its former owners, The Blackstone Group, Bain Capital and Comcast/NBCUniversal. According to The Hollywood Reporter, the deal was well within the billion-dollar range.
@10:13, Wrong, wrong, and wrong. You didn't read one electronically preserved article. You posted conjecture instead from others instead. I don't listen to gossip. Smh. Byron Allen is backed by others and doesn't own a network alone. Go listen to the recent Judge Brown podcast. I see you are sent on here to lie. You didn't read any of the official articles because I just posted my reply. See, you told on yourself trying to rush to look smart by responding quickly. All of the OFFICIAL articles are preserved online and what you posted isn't official or from 1993. So, you messed up. Had you actually READ what I told you to, you would have discovered that Bill went in with investors, not just his own money. So, he didn't need to come up with his own money.So, in an attempt to debunk the truth, you got debunked.
To 10:32am:
10:13am came with facts. You're just talking. So why don't you post this electronically preserved article or at least one credible link proving him trying to buy NBC really happened instead of just flapping your gums.
Who cares whether he was buying NBC? Bill is a rapist who was released on a legal technicality. He thought he was protected playing the Hollyweird game and was betrayed, that's all. What's in darkness always come to light.
Phylicia has always been a pick-me and knew what was going on. As a dean, she'll be overseeing/has input on how sexual assault cases are handled. She has that old school victim blaming mentality.
There's so many good black men and women to support-- than these rapists and rape apologists. We deserve better.
@10:40, because your lazy @ss needs to learn to do things for yourself. What do I look like doing it for you when I told you how to retrieve it? Are you that lazy? Next you are going to want me to read it for you too. Lol. Get up off of your lazy behind and do things for yourself. I like your nerve. Do you tell the professor to do your research??? Lol Ewww, you are lazy.
Yeah, she's backpeddling because her job at Howard starts tomorrow. She's not stopping that check.
She didnt need to say anything to the public. PR could have said this to Bill directly and kept it moving.

Get out your feelings and bring facts! You can't provide any because it doesn't exist! Bill was never able to afford NBC and just because you say it's true doesn't make it so.
He should have bought BET. It's over 100 channels on TV right now why didn't he just go to the next? Diddy got Revolt. J Lo even purchased a station (I believe).
My point wasn't to say he is innocent or guilty, my point was to give you all a broader perspective. 1. Had he been faithful to his wife this would have never happened. 2. Every American should be very alarmed that a DA made a legal and binding agreement with a defendant almost 12 years ago and then voided it when they felt like it. This is not how law is done. 95% of all cases never make it to court because 95% of defendants plead guilty whether guilty or not. So, let's say you are dirt poor and agree to plea to stealing a pack of gum you didn't steal, and the DA cuts a deal and says if you confess I will let you go, but then years later the DA says I change my mind. This is why Cosby's case is scary because think of how many poor folks have been jacked up. If they felt he was guilty they should have prosecuted him 12 years ago. So, this is where the NBC conspiracy comes in because of the timing of the accusations. It's strange to wait 12 years when the case was already resolved. Even if it's not based on NBC or business or other deals, he pissed someone off because America has never cared for we women enough to go back 12 years later and rectify wrongs. There are countless pervs walking around. 3. Phylicia and everyone on earth has a right to support people they know even if we don't. We don't know him and so we can't criticize her love for him. 4. I can't comment on the other alledged victims because I didn't hear their testimony, but the one he was convicted of raping, not only continued to fly from state to state to see him, but she also accepted gifts, money, and they talked all the time. As a SURVIVOR myself, I never contacted my attacker, I wanted justice not money,and I darn sure never took him scented candles, or accepted gifts. I think they were dating. In the end, it could have been avoided had he been faithful. Had he just been faithful. Smh.
To the commenters at 9:45, 9:49, 9:52, and 11:55. Thank you all for your well written and thought out comments. You all know how to make your points, clearly and succinctly without being vulgar, obtuse, and just ranting for no other reason than you can. Keep speaking your truth.

Bill got caught up in the Me too movement just like Harvey Weinstein. Both went to jail for charges that were committed in the past but only one man was freed. Harvey didn't need to or try to, buy any big company because he was already the head of the company.
Sorry to hear about your personal abuse but you can not say he's innocent because she continued to see him.. especially when she's just one of over sixty women who accused him.
To 10:56am
That's what I thought. Your bitch ass got nothing. The same way 10:13 posted one simple link to make a case you could of done the same but you didn't because your full of shit. I can google all day and go on a wild goose chase trying to find something that don't exist but I won't. Your a pure shit talking idiot so Eeew to you too BooBoo the Fool.
@12:04, Thanks. Critical thinking skills are becoming very rare. I am glad you can see and appreciate broader perspectives....@12:15, Girl bye. That was the most disingenuous, pathetic, and narcissistic responsle. I have things to do and so I will leave you to talk to yourself because I know you can't resist. Everyone else have a blessed one! @12:04, Thanks again.
@12:26, Your mental illness is real. Geez, go get treatment. Your response isn't normal. I pray you get better darling.
@12:43am
Thats always the typical lame come back to call somebody mentally ill when you have nothing of value to say. I'll get better when you stop spreading lies that you can't back up. Bye dummy.
@11:55
Excellent response. And the victim who continued to see BC is why I never believed the allegations.
@1:29, Since they claim the NBC remarks are just mere conspiracy talk, let them chew on this...The "special prosecutor" brought in to get Bill convicted now works as an NBC legal analyst. Lol See how it works? All of a sudden she has a nice t.v. job. Sometimes the truth is stranger than fiction. However, she was on t.v. looking nervous today because they know he might sue. They thought he was going to die in there. Lol. Strange turn of events.
@2:24
Very interesting. Let's see how things play out...
Bill deserves a fakeababy pregnancy prank!
