Loves Cardi, but she doesn't have the class or Grace to pull this off. I could see Tessa, definitely not Cardi.

NNNOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!
Please let Whitney's legacy stay and rest in peace....
Hollywood has absolutely NO originality....There are SO many black creatives to tell so many other stories and this is what they do...disappointing asf...where's the petitions?

This is basically sacrilege lol. Oh please no, not everything needs a ratched remake.

Way too many remakes in Hollywood. I know there are many aspiring screen writers out there who need a chance to show their work. Recycling old movies is getting lame and too repetitive.

I agree with all comments. Why remake a movie that was a 2 1/2 star movie at best. I see this as a waste of time and money. The only thing that really made this movie stand out was WH sound track for the movie.

Hell no!!! hollyweired been ran out of idea's and rehashing the same old tired flicks. Leave the bodyguard alone, why the hell that needs to be remade? Jesus be a fresh idea and inspiration.

@11:15 AM. You're being generous with 2 1/2, but I think that's all the more reason to remake it. I would love to see a bad movie remade as a good one. I think it can be done with Bodyguard. Especially if they use known actors who can really act and sing.

People will be mad if Whitney is outdone on the remake, but she never should have gotten the part in the first place. She could sing her azz off and was one of the best, but she was a lousy actress.

^^^unknown, not known actors.

They stay trying to prop this barely educated, uneloquent, altered-bodied, classless, lewd, marginally talented one-trick Dominican My Little Pony as some sort of icon and modern day version of a Black Queen, don't they? All of this is by design because Hollywood doesn't give two clucks about showcasing real talent, providing new opportunities or proper representation. They only care about perpetuating the same negative stereotypes by wrapping it in different skin. And what could Cardi do to make the movie better anyway? Jump into Tessa arms after performing WAP? FOH.

Dang, ms. mac, tell 'em how you really feel 🤣

Meh. The first one was tolerable because they had the biggest singer (at the time) paired with the most popular yt (mediocre) actor (at the time). Plus, the soundtrack was amazing. With the current crop of talent, and I hate to say this, the only artist who could the role justice is Beyonce. And Bey can't act worth a damn.

On second thought, that actress who played Billie Holiday could, with the right male actor...

They need to scour the EARTH for an unknown skinny tall brown skinned black girl who can sing her Ass off. Then pair her with one of Hollywood's sexiest young leading men of any race. Come up with a decent script and soundtrack and BAMMMMMM. YOU got a winner!

@Ms Mac

A drop of tea but I know someone whose had a long career in the music industry. She told me that Crusty B's entire career is paid for, including her awards. She was groomed to be a rap star. The only thing organic about her come up is the hooking, stripping, and robbing she did to break into the industry.

@9:49AM....you're exactly right!! That's why I try to support indie films and documentary stories with substance.
Same goes for these lame ass TV show remakes...enough is a damn enough!!!
