You have tons of talent! Get out there and sell yourself. You can't force them to change their minds. You might want to consider suing if you want a large part of your life tied up in court. We all know you ARE Morris Day and the Time!
Unbelievable! The Time has so many great songs I think Get it up is my favorite. Hopefully they don't try to block you from performing the music because these lawyers are ruthless.
What Time Is It, featuring Morris Day Morris Day and the Time Band. Get creative Morris. Is it the name or they just don't want you to play and get paid?
That's what happens when Shaquita and Pookie who never worked a day in their fuckin lives get a hold of the foundation legacy or whatever is going on over there.

Prince(r.i.p.) actually owned the patent to The Time name since he was the producer, Composer & creator of the WHOLE concept of The Time( whom was a Prince(r.i.p.) production and they were hired to play the songs live).. In fact the character of Morris's WHOLE persona came from Prince(r.i.p.). Morris signed that contract giving Prince(r.i.p.)(the creator) ownership of the name The Time in 1982.
When the original members of The Time wanted to get back together in 2011 Prince(r.i.p.) wouldn't allow them to use that name "The Time" for a new album so they changed it to The Original 7ven for that one album. But Prince(r.i.p.) did allow Morris to use The Name "Morris Day & The Time".(whom I've seen countless times live) for live performances only.
But it's WAY more to this then Morris is saying. Morris grabbed for the trademark of Morris Day & The Time 16 days after Prince(r.i.p.) transitioned. But had to give it up in December last year since the estate owns the name The Time. The estate wants Morris to pay for licensing to use the name. But Prince(r.i.p) didn't charge Morris licensing to use it on live dates. So Morris feels the estate shouldn't charge him.
BTW Morris Day & The Time have ALL NEW members besides the original drummer Jellybean and lead singer Morris that have been touring since the original 7ven members broke up. The original The Time are not currently recording or haven't toured in YEARS.
It was what it was, yall did good. Move on, for yourself. They are not obligated to align themselves with you. If the group isn't all the original members call yourself something else, you were just a ' character'. Maybe it a little grandiose on your part.

Damn shame Morris. I would sue.
Maybe it's time to reinvent yourself, sir. Might be a good thing.
He looks really good to be however old he is. With that being said he has enough talent that whatever makes he uses I'm sure he'll have an audience.
^^^whatever name*

Morris Daytime is the obvious choice here.
@10:25  whyyyy you dooo that
Tyme 4 a Gigolo reinvention.
Y'all were originally The Time sir.
The last album yall had to change the name to The Original 7ven.
And yes Morris, you are looking good.
If Prince had just left a will majority of these issues would not be issues.
This is what happens when you let nutty ass Jehovah Witnesses brainwash you with their nonsense...
They always say that these blk celebs don't have a will. These entities just come in to take over the estate to recapture the wealth.
Damn, that's petty. Morris puts on a good show. Saw him live once in Dallas.
Like @10:45am, said.......Just spell "TIME," differently...and move on...
@10:25. LOVE IT!!! don't waste no money tryna fight that..and Yes, Morris looks good! Now where's Jerome?

Fuck them! I'd take a page out of Prince's book and perform as Morris E. Day followed by a clock symbol. BWAAAAAAHHH!
...and why TF didn't Prince have a will? Or did he??? He protected TF out of his work. This will never add up.

Morris Day I Got Time Today
Morris Got the Time of Day
I can pass on his gimmicky music and performances. He does look good though.
That’s weird that Prince didn’t have a Will
