Wendy Williams Ex-Husband Suing for Wrongful Termination

Wendy Williams' ex husband Kevin Hunter is suing Wendy Williams Show producers Debmar Mercury for firing him after Wendy divorced him...

According to documents exclusively obtained by The Shade Room, the ex-husband of the media maven filed documents in New York on Monday, February 28th.
In his lawsuit, Kevin Hunter claims he was terminated “on the basis of his marital status which is barred by the New York City Human Rights Law.”
As a result of the firing, Hunter “has suffered an economic loss, which will be determined by trial, in the range of seven to ten million dollars,” the filing states.
He claims that in April of 2019, after Wendy filed for divorce, he received a letter from the Debmar-Mercury that stated he was terminated. The letter read in part, “effective immediately, your role as Executive Producer of the Wendy Williams Show is terminated, and your professional relationship with Debmar-Mercury is also concluded.”
The lawsuit claims that in 2007 the production company started negotiation talks with him and Wendy Williams. the ex-husband of the media maven also states he “represented Williams at all times during the negotiations between Debmar and Williams.”
Hunter also stated, “he was used to being behind the scenes of Williams’ prior ventures and used his business knowledge and street smarts to negotiate a significant financial increase from the initial contract being offered to Williams.”
The suit also says he was an executive producer of the show “from on or about November of 2007, to April of 2019.”
The documents state Hunter was contractually obligated to 10% of “commission on revenues.”
Also mentioned, are the duties Hunter was responsible for. Among the many listed, he alleges some of his duties involved “the creation of the show’s brand and the look and feel of the show; helping conceptualize the wildly popular, ‘Hot Topics,’ ‘Shoe Cam,’ and ‘Hot Seat,’ segments of the show.”
The filing claims that many of the segments Hunter helped create on ‘The Wendy Williams Show’ “will be part of Sherri Shepherd’s new show.”
He also states “the show never recovered from his firing” and “defendants underestimated Plaintiff’s value to the show.”
Kevin Hunter is asking for “not less than $7,000,000″ and “punitive damages, lost wages, commissions.” He’s also asking for “the costs and fees of this proceeding, including legal fees.”

Boy bye! You were wrecking havoc in and throughout those offices. I know they couldn't wait to fire your ass. He's stupid because all it takes is a couple of testimonies from other employees and how he bullied people. The judge might fuck around and have them counter sue. What an idiot!

@12:04. That's just what I was thinking... there's no way he could go back to dealing at this stage of life. I believe that was his real job when he met Wendy, along with a small income property. If he was a legit promotion person (no strong arm tactics), he would've built that back up when she started to decline health wise. While he took his pimping game to the next level, he should've learned from that Willie Dynamite movie, always have a plan B.
