Bar-B-Que would have been Ok... They just had to push that envelope. Her fans would have brought them either way. What is wrong with getting approval from the original brand, to avoid trademark infringement?
If they could afford to pay Mattel they would have. Were they hoping that no one would notice, or is the lawsuit their marketing strategy? All press is good press, I guess.
This is blatant infringement..I mean who OK'd this??? Clearly they didn't send this to their legal dept....They actually could've pulled it off without using Mattel's mark....DUMB ASS decision right here
As much as she has used that brand name THIS is where they draw the line?
Now will this stop her from promoting them for free or nah? Rappers love promoting these brands that don't mess with their kind. Even on Beyonce new album she is singing about brands she know most the people who buy her music can't afford.
nikki minaj didn't create the chips. rap snacks was founded by/used to be owned by master p & his son (romeo?) i believe. lots of rappers have flavors named after them.
i don't know if he sold it to someone else. never had them or seen them. but i hear they are a common presence at gas stations and corner stores in the hood.
it's hilarious they got this woman who looks nothing like onika on the bag. and it'd be even more funny if they did that to prevent her from suing them for using her likeness but didn't have the sense to cover their asses against mattel.
i've often wondered how she is able to wear that necklace and put out songs like "barbie dreams" and not get into legal trouble.
in any case, whoever own rap snacks ain't got longer money than mattel, so they gone have to settle this out of court.

Mattel don't play that. Don't believe me? Ask the creator of the Bratz dolls.

Good. I've always resented that Black Barbie nonsense. Be original. Go back to school and learn something about creativity and marketing.
Junk food, junk music.
It's Simple Rap Snacks
Barbz- B - Q or Que.
You're Welcome.
She is using the same logo font as Barbie. You can't do that. It's their trademark.
11:09, that was my thought. She's been calling herself a Barbie for over a decade and THIS is what they're suing over? Make it make sense.
@ 3:14 You can call yourself whatever nickname you wish but you can't use their logo and use it on your merchandise. That's where they fucked up.
Are the chips any good?
So what if they're black owned, that has nothing to do with copyright infringement.
Non issue
Dummies
Niki hasn't learned from trying to rip off Tracy Chapman?
Those chips are great. The Lil Baby chips are the best.
